I purchase bulk, loose leaf tea from Harney and Sons. Wish my last order of Special English Breakfast tea, I added a tea bag sampler. Have to get that free shipping. I thought it would be a good way to try other teas and expand my palate.
The reusable tea box holds 15 bags of a random sample. The box also includes steeping instructions and water temperature for the perfect cup of tea.
The second tea I tried (the first was peppermint for an upset stomach) was Raspberry Herbal. I'm not really partial to herbal teas. I find they smell pretty but don't have a lot of flavor no matter how long you steep. (An exception is the peppermint tea which not only smells very pepperminty but tastes very pepperminty as well)
The raspberry tea had a bright fruity smell, but not much taste. A teaspoon of honey sweetened the cup, but all I could really taste was the honey.
Maybe this blend would taste better iced.
Do you like raspberry tea?

I´ve never had raspberry-tea. Atm I like yogi-teas. And peppermint is always good. Happy T-Day!
ReplyDeleteI'm not fond of peppermint, but it does help settle a queasy stomach
DeleteI used to drink a lot of (Twinings) fruit teas when I was working, and enjoyed them. I always left the tea bag in the mug and enjoyed the tea hot, warm, tepid and cold, as it went through the various temperature stages.
ReplyDeleteMaybe I should have steeped the tea longer. It smell pretty but tasted like hot water sweetened with honey
DeleteRaspberry tea is not my favorite, but I do like some herbal teas. That's the fun thing about a sampler because you can try all kinds of flavors. Have a great T day. Are you do some light snow tomorrow?
ReplyDeleteWe got a few flurries. I'm not complaining.
DeleteI really like coffee better than any tea. I agree with you that herbal teas don’t have much flavor.
ReplyDeletebest… mae at maefood.blogspot.com
I love the smell of coffee especially fresh ground beans, but the taste is too bitter for me
DeleteI find the same thing. Not much taste but the smells can be very enjoyable. 😏
ReplyDeleteYup, it smelled very pretty
DeleteI'am not one for fruity tea... i like black tea or maybe a nice chai.... My go to is Lipton and i drink from pretty big mugs so i always use two tea bags and just leave the bags in as i drink it.... milk and sugar for me too.. Maybe if you add another tea bag it might help.. I like my tea Hot or Iced but no where in between. :) Hugs!deb
ReplyDeleteMaybe a longer steeping time would help
DeleteNice tea sampler. I don't really like fruity teas with the exception of hibiscus. Peppermint tea, though, is lovely and I like it a lot, even though I am not much of a tea drinker. Happy T day!
ReplyDeleteHibiscus sounds interesting
DeleteHow fun, I do like herbal teas but I also leave the bag in just to make sure I get all that flavour. Happy T Day!
ReplyDeleteYeah, I think that's what I should do
DeleteLike Iris, I've never had raspberry-tea. It sounds interesting, but I have found most herbal or flavored teas are really tasteless. At least you have a good sampling to choose from. Thanks for sharing these with us for T this Tuesday, dear CJ.
ReplyDeleteIt will be fun to try the different flavors
DeleteYou are right, they smell lovely but don't have much taste, especially unsweetened. But I still drink that sort of 'tea' as I love the smell.
ReplyDeleteHappy T-Day,
Lisca
And unsweetened means no extra calories
DeleteI also am not a fan of herbal teas, except for peppermint tea. I like a black tea like Earl Grey, Lady Grey, Chai, oh especially Chai. Thanks for sharing your tea tasting experience with us. Perfect for t-day. Happy T day.
ReplyDeleteEarl Grey especially with vanilla is one of my favorites. I love Chai, too.
DeleteI know many like them but I'm not a huge fan of herbal teas.
ReplyDeleteThink I'll just go and make a cup of English Breakfast tea :)
All the best Jan
