Saturday Afternoon at the Movies

This idea came from a Facebook meme:
Over 10 days, post your 10 all time favorite films. What movie has really made an impact on you or what films can you watch over and over and never tire of? Post either the movie poster, DVD cover or even a screenshot on your timeline. No need to explain.

Only I had a hard time picking out just 10 movies so my favorites over the next few hundred Saturdays 😸 in semi-alphabetical order:me favorite films. 1. Did you know there is a The Simpsons episode on this, too? :-)

    1. I think I would have liked the pairing of Charles Laughton with Marlon Brando. Clark Gable wasn't enough of a dandy to play Fletcher Christian as he was described in the books.

  3. I prefer Charles Laughton, but I liked both of these. There was also a 1933 Errol Flynn version mixing re-enactments with documentary. It was his screen debut. And a 1984 Mel Gibson effort that was supposed to be more historically accurate. It's interesting how some historic events capture the public imagination.

    1. Didn't know about the Errol Flynn. Saw Mel Gibson, not a big fan of him. This event certainly caught my attention as a teen. Not only did I see the films, but read all three of the books.

  4. I've heard of the second one, but never seen either of them. However, I learned a lot just by viewing the trailers. It's amazing that boat was built just for that film.

  6. I think there was a more recent version with Anthony Hopkins. (Just looked it up-it was 1984). I remember that one and it was really good. Check it out if you haven't seen it. Happy rest of your weekend. Hugs-Erika
