The Friday Five Good Things

Five good things that happened this week while visiting the Eldest in Pennsylvania

1. Went to see Star Wars  (meh) and then out to dinner at Red Lobster

2. Went to see the Christmas tree display at Kraynak’s

3. Had brunch at the Iron Bridge Inn.

4. Celebrated New Year’s Eve with the Eldest. Our tradition is having Chinese food, but the local Chinese restaurant is closed on Tuesdays so we bought PF Chang’s frozen entrees from the grocery store. And she found some Three Stooges shorts on a free streaming service called Tubi. Then toasted the New Year. I also texted New Year greetings to the Young One who spent the holiday with her friend in Ohio.

5. Made plants to visit the Eldest during the Summer with a day trip to the beaches of Lake Erie.

How was your week?

  3. "meh" is the right word. Even Freddie Mercury had the line "and I don´t like Star Wars" in "Bycicle Race" :-)
Lake Erie, WOW. Funny, I really had to make sure it´s not Lake Eyre. Sounds the same so far apart (have only seen the latter).
Great work with that diaper! Hubby still had washable ones, me the first disposable, hence expensive diapers.
We both were potty trained at 1 1/2. My Brother??? 3, His Daughter... 5...
Navigational systems make us forget how to go to places, oh, I am an old ... but really, not all new things are helpful in the end?

    1. The diaper was from my first win with the Graceful Envelope contest in 2000. I just loved that New Year baby stamp

  5. My husband and i must be the only ones in world who liked the Star Wars movie...lol Was it the best? no the original 3 were the best, then the next 3 prequels were awful IMHO... These last 3 were better i think.. and this last one wrapped things up nicely for me anyway.. Hubs and i could not figure out where the third lightsaber came from.. ?? Hugs! deb

    1. I'm not a huge fan of Star Wars. I only went because the Eldest wanted to see it and then there was dinner afterwards so the lure of no cooking was the big draw for me. 😺

  7. I haven't seen the new SW movie yet. I may wait 'til it comes to a streaming service near me ;) Do you know the joke: Question "What's the difference between men and women?" Answer "Men think the 3 Stooges are funny" lol That's how it is at our house anyway. I use Tubi quite a bit.

    1. I'd save your money and wait to see it on tv. I love the Three Stooges. Many happy memories watching with my grandma. She didn't speak English very well, but didn't need English to be able to follow the Stooges. My mother hated them, but we got to watch them when Grandma came over or we went to her house. I had never heard of Tubi before this week so will have to check out what else they offer.

  10. a good week it sounds. Red Lobster - haven't been there in ages but we buy the mix to make Red Lobster Bisquits at home. I've only been to P.F.Chang a couple times years ago - are the frozen meals good?
