T Stands for Christmas Land

A visit to the Eldest wouldn't be complete without a trip to Kraynak's Garden Center in Hermitage, Pennsylvania to see their Christmas tree displays. They begin decorating in September. People from all around the area come to see the trees.

We went after Christmas. The parking lot was jammed, but very few people were walking through Christmas Land. Most of them were there to take advantage of the more than 50% off after Christmas sale which meant we pretty much had Christmas Land to ourselves after circling the building twice looking for a parking space.

Polar bears and orca tails

Is your name on the list?

This Care Bear display made me laugh. When the Eldest was between the ages of 6 and 8 years old, she discovered Care Bears after they were popular. We went crazy one year searching every store trying to find a Care Bear. We finally found the last one at The Fair, a Worcester discount department store no longer in business. (I miss the Fair.) Looks like Care Bears are popular again.

My drink reference is Mr. Frog's tea party.

A Funko Pop Mr. Rogers with the Neighborhood Trolley. Mr. Roger's Neighborhood, a children's television program was filmed in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania about an hour and a half Southwest of Hermitage.

A hedgehog for my friend, Tiggy, in Scotland.

The Eldest's favorite lovey was Lambie. Lambie isn't as fluffy and white as these lambs, but she's still around.

Don't blink!

A beautiful, stained glass

 Lambies, again.

Drop by hosts, Bleubeard and Elizabeth's blog to find out what the rest of the T Stands For gang is up to. If you want to play, include in your Tuesday post a beverage or container for a beverage. Don't forget to link your blog to Bleubeard and Elizabeth's page.

  2. This looked like a very fun day browsing all of the displays.
I never got to go but in Chicago one of the museums always displays Christmas trees of different countries. I was reminded of those when my sister in law showed photos recently of her family visiting.
I enjoyed seeing all your photos Happy T wishes Kathy

  3. The Christmas trees are gorgeous! It'd be hard to see that display and not bring something home. I remember people getting into fights in stores over those care bears. They were great toys and pretty, but not worth risking injury over. Our daughter got one as a gift, and we found her one with a moon on it. Sweet things :)

    1. I don’t remember fights over the Care Bears. I do remember people fighting over Cabbage Patch dolls. My brother was looking for one for his son and couldn’t find one. Had to have a German friend get him one.

  7. My sincere apologies. As your host, I knew I had to show up for T, but it took everything I had to climb out of bed. I am running a fever of 101.8 F (38.8 C). I appreciate you sharing your drink with us this T Tuesday. Took me awhile to find the frog. Bet with the movie, everyone has now heard of Mr. Rogers.

  8. Some of this is appealing to me (the tails and polar bears for sure) but overall I think I would find it overwhelming. I was in a store last year that was huge and was wall to wall Christmas, with each section (imagine a typical Target-seized aisle) dedicated to Christmas in a particular color (rose gold everything, anyone?) or theme (the beach and ocean, for example). It made me want to run screaming from the building!

    1. You weren't at Bronner's in Frankenmuth, MI were you? I don't find these displays overwhelming unless they are packed with people. Since this was after Christmas, we practically had the displays all to ourselves. Could spend as much time or as little looking at things.

  9. That looks a fabulous display in the garden center, you picked a good time to visit , it is hard to take photos with lots of people around.
    Happy T day wishes.

    1. Yeah, last year we went before Christmas and it was crowded. Hard to see some of the trees and hard to get pictures without people in them

  10. How nice that you could enjoy the gorgeous displays without being too affected by the post Christmas buying frenzy. I really enjoyed your lovely photos! Thank you for taking the time to post them. And yes, I remember those Care Bears:)

    1. I don't like crowds so I'm glad everyone was in the store buying stuff and not where the trees were. We could see the displays in our own time.

  11. I didn't blink otherwise I wouldn't be able to write this. Smile. I remember when you took us last year to this garden center and I am glad you took us back again. Wow. What a fun visit that must have been, especially without all the crowds looking at holiday decor. Hope it was a great T day. Hugs-Erika

  14. Oh, could I have fun showing "the list" to my little Niece - panic would be the result ;-)

    1. Care Bears were animated Teddy bears from the 1980s promoting kindness. They each had a special symbol on their tummy, a sort of super power. The cartoon was quite popular and so tons of merchandise spun off from it.

    2. Never heard of that here! Or seen. Germany. Always far behind...

  15. What beautiful Christmas display!s I can see why people come from miles around. I wouldn't mind having Christmas all year long (not the commercial part, but the beauty and good cheer).

    Happy T-day! Eileen xx

    1. At one time, I thought of decorating the house in a year round Christmas theme, but the thought of all the baubles that would need dusting kept me from doing it.😺

  16. I left a long comment on Tuesday, but I don't see it here. Did you not receive a comment from me? Later I noticed for someone else, it didn't show my name in the Comment as: drop down, so I don't think it left my comment for that person either. Maybe that happened with you, too, but I could've sworn it came back and said waiting for moderation approval. :-(

Short comment: I love this Christmas Land place you visited.

    1. Sorry, I don't think I ever saw a previous comment from you. From my own experience, I have problems leaving comments on the iPad using Safari. It looks like I'm logged into to Google, but my name doesn't appear in the reply as drop down. My get around is using Chrome for iPad.

  19. What a beautiful display. I love all the decorated christmas trees. And all the fun characters (that don't mean anything to me of course not being american). They are fun to watch.
Sorry for the late comment. We have been helping friends move house (They are now living within walking distance)
