New Word of the Day
Bright light is one of my migraine triggers especially sunlight off snow or the pavement. Himself told me reflective light off a surface is called albedo. If you need to know how to calculate the albedo:
Now THAT will come in handy the next time I'm at a party..... I can bring any conversation to a screeching halt with tidbits like that! :-/ (I have super powers! LOL)
Just looking at that formula gave me a headache. It is very bright out recently, now that we finally have sunshine again. I've been wearing my sunglasses when I go outside.
I remember this from college physics. NOT the formula but the word. (My calculus knowledge is long long long gone.) But thanks for reminding me of the word, and I hope you haven't had any migraines lately.
My old boss sure´d loved this post. Well, not the migraine part of course... (really, acupuncture helped me, I´m migraine free since ...? 1999? And I had it real bad)
SO sorry to read about you getting migraines. I had no idea. I DO like the word, which I somehow remember from physics and the formula, which I know from calculus. Those were the good old days.

ReplyDeleteLast one was a couple of months ago, a weather related event. I’m a human barometer 😺
DeleteI love learning new words.
ReplyDeleteI didn't realize you dealt with migraines. So sorry:(
They were worse when I was younger. One of the benefits of old age

DeleteMigraines are not good ...
ReplyDeleteAll the best Jan
They are better now than when I was younger and working in a very stressful environment.
DeleteThat's new to me too and very interesting! Happy wishes! Hugs, Jo x
ReplyDeleteThis would make a great answer for the game show, Jeopardy
DeleteWe never get enough snow for that to be a problem. I remember that word but somehow connected it with the moon.
ReplyDeleteHimself said the word applies to any light source
