The Friday Five Good Things

Five good things that happened this week

1. From the sun room, I watched a purple finch eat a dandelion puff. I wonder what he wished for?

2. Massachusetts removes the mask mandate with a few exceptions and businesses are allowed to open at full capacity.

3. The fairies (packages) arrived. On a Sunday! On a holiday weekend!

4. The Grand Niece age 3 (with help from her mom) called me on Facetime. We had a wonderful conversation. She showed me her new doll, says she enjoys painting, asked if I had toys so I showed her some things on my desk (she didn't like Godzilla 😺), and she showed me how her baby brother blows kisses. Talking to G made my week.

5. After running errands we stopped for take-out. The first Lobster Roll of the season in the sun room.

How was your week?

  1. #1 sure made me smile.
#2 - yay! Just keep the distance.
#3 - wow, won´t happen here, all closed but restaurants etc.
    #4 Godzilla, LOL!
#5 not my food, but another yay for you!

Masks still required, but no "Corinna"-test, so we went to the deep garage for a yummy beer yesterday. It warmed up and we´re out and about soon.

  2. The first lobster roll of the season is always the best. I had one this week too when I went to lunch with a friend. Glad to hear MA removed the mask mandate. WE don't have one here but still many folks still wearing them-of course it depends where you go. You know NH-Live Free or Die. I think you had a wonderful week CJ. I have also. Hope your weekend is also very nice. Hugs-Erika

    1. Individual businesses can require masks. People seem to be wearing them in the grocery stores.

  3. You had a varied week :) The purple finches (or in my case, the house finches I can't distinguish from the purple finches) are so _red_ this year. They seem brighter than usual, and they're enjoying the hummingbird feeder.

    1. This purple finch seemed a little dull, perhaps a female. Love that they enjoy a sweet treat, too.

    2. The females are always dull, and I used to have trouble telling them apart from sparrows. They are the only birds other than hummingbirds that come to the hummingbird feeder.

  4. Three year olds are the BEST! If only they didn't have to grow up....sigh. And YAY for lobster rolls! :D

    1. She was funny about Godzilla. "I don't like him" "But look, he's smiling." She still wasn't enthusiastic about him, but curious as to why he got to hold my pencil.

  8. What an amazing Memorial weekend. We got rid of ours two weeks ago, but I'm going to wear a mask until hell freezes over, or until the entire world is inoculated.

It was good you had facetime with your grand niece. I've still never had a lobster roll. Maybe someday you lucky gal.

    1. You need to come East to have a lobster roll. If they have to truck it in, it ain’t fresh 😉
