T Stands For Microwave Mug Apple Crisp

Himself sent me a Microwave Mug Apple Crisp recipe. I'm not sure if it's because he knows I like quick and easy cooking or it's a hint.

The recipe comes from Gemma's Bigger Bolder Baking. The video contains instructions for making 3 different mug "pies": pumpkin, apple crisp, pecan. The Apple Crisp segment starts at 2:56.

This looks so good. Quick and easy to make a sweet treat without the temptation to eat an entire pan. It would pair nicely with a cup of tea either for dessert or a breakfast.

Check out Gemma's other mug recipes. Looks like she has mug meals as well as desserts.

Drop by hosts, Bleubeard and Elizabeth's blog to find out what the rest of the T Stands For gang is up to. If you want to play, include in your Tuesday post a beverage or container for a beverage. Don't forget to link your blog to Bleubeard and Elizabeth's page.

    1. I like them because they are fast, use ingredients that you already have, and very little cleanup

  4. Mug cakes have been big hits on and off for a long time, and it’s fun how many recipes have emerged since the first one which was a chocolate cake, I think.

I make individual apple crisps in pyrex custard cups, but bake them in the toaster oven so that the topping really gets crisp. It’s a bit slower, but they can be ready for dessert if they go in the oven when you start eating. If you are going to use fresh apples, you have to cut them up no matter how you cook them. And if you use canned pie filling it will be too much for a single or even for two.

  8. I am always looking for recipes that are not making so much you throw half of them away. These all sound good. I am definitely going to make my choc. chip cookies again as I got just 24 out of the recipe. Just enough for 2 cookie sheets and for a few days of cookie snacks for the hubby and I. Hope you are having a nice T day. Are you in the snow zone tomorrow? I know; it's a BAD word. hugs-Erika

    1. We are in a freezing mix, but by early tomorrow morning, temps should warm up and everything turns to rain and any slush will melt. I hope

  13. You sent me down a rabbit hole when you sent me to Gemma's blog. Now I am REALLY behind. Gotta love those meals in a mug. My favs were tortilla/taco in a mug and mac and cheese in a mug.

Thanks for sharing these with us for T this Tuesday, CJ.

    Hugs,
    E

  14. I've never tried one of these mug- or cup-recipes, but I'm sure one day I will. It sounds easy enough and a little dessert in the afternoon is just the ticket.

    1. These recipes are easy to customize. You can use fresh, frozen, or canned (tinned) fruit. You would just have to adjust the cook time.
