The Friday Five Good Things

Five good things that happened this week.

1. We watched the season 7 finale of The Blacklist. Filming was interrupted by the pandemic. Cast and crew finished the episode in a very clever way.

2. Switched to a new phone service, thanks Andy.

3. Made an easy and delicious sweet potato and carrot soup

4. Showers in the forecast, but still hanging onto Summer in the sun room

How was your week?

    1. We've been having weird weather. Chilly one day and then on Thurs. Summer. I'm not complaining. I wouldn't mind going through Winter with temps of 75 oF.

  5. We actually might get our first rain around next Monday while higher altitudes are predicted to get snow. Hope your weekend is set at 75 ... that is a temp i would love to have all winter - actually around 60... 75 gets too hot in the sun when I'm out walking or hiking.

    1. 75 oF would be great for Winter. I like my Summer a bit hotter
      85 oF would be perfect

    2. definitely love 80's but to me if the UV index is high - then that's too high when I'm out doing things.

  6. Thanks for reminding me about mole day. I was able to send a note off to my friend the chemistry teacher. Sounds like a good week, and we can use the rain. Although I was hoping for 1 more day like yesterday.

  10. I don´t understand what a sunroom is - a winter-garden (glass-walls and roof) or balcony?
Best this week here: Rain yesterday!!! Real, fat, beautiful drops!

    1. The sun room is an enclosed porch with large, glass windows and a sliding door. Basically, a metal box with a metal roof attached to the back of the house. It is sometimes called a 3 season porch or Florida room as it isn't heated so not cozy to sit out there during the cold Winter months. During Spring, Summer, and Fall we watch television and eat our meals in the sun room. Himself was teaching his online class from the sun room. Sometimes I'll take my art stuff out there. Once it gets too cold to be out there, we will bring the television inside and put it in the bedroom.

  11. I want the recipe to your soup. It sounds like something I would try.

Happy belated Mole Day. It's definitely FREEZING here. Seriously and I haven't turned my heat on yet. It was 30 F last night and I'm seriously freezing. Including my hands.

    1. We haven't gotten that cold yet. Overall this month it's been unseasonably warm. A cold front moves in over the weekend and temps will be back to normal for this time of year. Bye Bye sun room.

  12. I haven't seen any of that series. I haven't seen a mole in ages. We've been having sunny days with highs in the 80s. Today it's sprinkling and 47 lol

    1. That's a huge temperature difference. I'd rather have the 80s

    2. I enjoy the seasonal changes, but I tend to be more comfortable in the 80s.
