How Does Your Garden Grow?

Where did he go?

There he his! Mr. Scaley. The girlies named the garter snake who lived under the back stairs Mr. Scaley.

A busy spider

Colorful maple

Heath asters

And just like that. The leaves turned.

Pink sedum. The lawn guy wasn't so careful.

Last of the morning glories. Not as spectacular as other years

And one lonely holdout for Summer. Just like me.

How does your garden grow?

  1. Your garden is looking great. The plants must be all confused about the season as i late August it felt like fall and now in late September it feels like summer. I have a Mr. Scaley too but I am not so fond of him. Smile. Happy Sunday. Enjoy this gorgeous day CJ. Hugs-Erika

    1. The trees aren't confused. Overnight they went from green to color! Mr. Scaley doesn't bother me too much. I wouldn't want to hug him or anything. He startled me as he zipped through the grass, but he was more afraid of me as I tried to get his picture than I was of him.

  2. We have a Mr. Scaley too! Once he even got into the lanai. I'm not afraid of him but I do prefer he stays on his side of the screens.....LOL
Your heath asters are lovely! :D

    1. Yeah, I like Mr. Scaley to keep his distance. The Heath asters are weeds. I'm good with weeds 😺

  3. I love a garter snake :) Your flowers still look pretty, and the changing leaves are a welcome sign of maybe some changes in the temps.

    1. Mr. Scaley doesn't really bother me, but the spiders make me hit the high notes! 😱

  6. I had to smile at Mr Scaley's name … not too sure if I would be smiling if I actually came face to face with him though!
    Your garden looks good.
We have a lot of falling leaves at the moment!

    All the best Jan

  8. It's been hot here since June. It's still in the 90s (F), but yesterday it cooled to the mid 80s. A welcome change for Smithsonian Museum Day. Still, I'm waiting for daytime highs in the 70s and nighttime lows in the high 50s. Perfect weather in my opinion, but it probably has the little princess heading for her winter crown and wardrobe.

    1. I wouldn't mind sailing through Winter with temps in the 70s. Temps in the 50s is a little chilly for the sun room, but thank heavens for ermine edged blankies.

  9. Nice mix of photos. I know you said Himself said it's normal for your tree leaves to be changing color, but I still think it seems like it's a few weeks early. I'm seeing maples changing here in southern CT, and it just doesn't feel right, like it's ahead of schedule. But ewww for the snake. (Besides not liking spiders, I don't like snakes.)

    1. I think the season is ahead of schedule, too. I hope it doesn't mean a really long Winter.

    1. I need to move it to a safer spot so the lawn guy doesn't weed whack it to pieces.
