Because I'm pretty sure the Eldest doesn't read my blog, here's the Easter card I made. If she does read this, the Easter package should arrive by Friday. 🐻😘💙
I made the card with the help of the Scan n Cut machine. The card is an egg shaped design. The hot pink paper is just the background I used for the photograph so the card would show up.
Inside. I changed up the design a little bit. Added the "jewel" to the first egg. The second egg was supposed to have cut out letters to glue to the off-white band. That was too fussy for me to glue so I just calligraphed "happy easter" in an informal style and added a butterfly sticker. I didn't bother cutting out the bits for the bunny face. Too fussy to glue. So I used some googly eyes and drew in the nose and mouth. I also colored in the toe beans. He looked under dressed to me so I added the pink bow. All the pieces parts were glued with a glue stick.
Gorgeous card, your eldest will love it! Have a great day, Valerie
ReplyDeleteI think she'll like what's tucked inside better 😺
DeleteFantastic Easter card. I like that it's an egg shape.
ReplyDeleteThat's what attracted me to this pattern
DeleteSuper cute idea CJ. I mailed mine an Easter package Tuesday. Just going from eastern NH to western NH. They told me it would be there by yesterday. So I tracked it. Yesterday it left Manchester. That makes sense. This morning I tracked it again and it now left Nashua. That doesn't make sense. Guess it didn't arrive yesterday as promised. Hope the brownies I sent her aren't hard as rocks when she gets it. Hope your package arrives on time your eldest can enjoy her cute Easter card. Stay dry. Hugs-Erika
ReplyDeleteMail is taking a lot longer. I mailed photographs to my cousin last Tues. They should have arrived in Boston the following day. Nothing. And then some weird messages with the tracking. Late Friday afternoon, my cousin told me they got the photos. What a relief! They were formal photos from his parents wedding. I thought they had gotten lost. Guess we just need to add longer to mail time along with patience.
DeleteEverything is taking longer these days. What ever happened to good ole American know-how?? :-/
ReplyDeleteGood ol' american know-how didn't count on the world falling apart. 😿
DeleteSo cute! I've tried cutting egg shapes and it didn't go well lol
ReplyDeleteI didn't cut any of the shapes, the cutting machine did 😺
DeleteThe right tool for the task :)
DeleteAww. It'a a purrfect card. She'll love it.
ReplyDeleteRegarding your comment at the blog: The HH and I too were in the CC system:)
She did. Her package arrived a day early. In the CC system, no wonder why we get on so well.
DeleteSo lovely! My students would have loved to have that project.
ReplyDeleteLots of projects on the Brother Canvas Workspace site. I'm not sure if you have to have the cutting machine to join the site and look at the projects. If you don't have a machine, you might be able to work out what you need to do by watching the videos that accompany each project
DeleteWhat a beautiful card! I really love the shape!
ReplyDeleteI loved the egg shape, too. Something a little different.
DeleteGosh, CJ. One year I made an Easter basket out of polymer clay. For the eggs, I found a pattern on the internet, sized and printed it and cut my clay when I put the pattern on top. If I had ~$400.00, I could have made that adorable pattern of an egg on a ScanNCut (grin). Facetious, because this is gorgeous. You turned it into a work of art.
ReplyDeleteSadly, I wouldn't even be able to afford the extra "dies" or whatever they are called, much less the machine.
No, that's the beauty of the Scan n Cut. It doesn't use dies. You can use your own drawings, use clipart. Brother has the Canvas Workspace site to download projects and cut files for free. It comes with a bunch of different cut file shapes, holiday, stuff, even fonts to cutter letters or sayings.
DeleteSuch a beautiful cards! Love the happy colours and Easter eggs, your calligraphy is amazing too just like on my page today but I cheated and used stamps ...lol 😉. Happy Easter! Hugs, Jo x
ReplyDeleteIt was a fun way to use up scrap paper.
