The Friday Five Good Things

Five good things that happened this week.

1. I couldn't fall asleep so hung out with the Young One until 2 AM

2. Texted my friend who is in Infection Control for Stanford University Hospital. She's working long hours, but she and her family are fine.

3. A wind and rain storm knocked the electricity out. The power wall kicked in and saved the day. I didn't have to flush the toilet using buckets of water.

4. The Nephew and his wife had a gender reveal video of a box of white and blue balloons with blue and white confetti. She also posted an ultrasound picture of the little dude. He arrives sometime in September

5. Attended a virtual birthday party for Himself's brother.

How was your week?

  1. Happy week...happy Friday, haven't figured out how it is different than the other days of the week during this dam-panic...it's baking and baking Monday through Sunday. Stay well my friend.

  5. It's amazing how we are all adjusting and changing things. I still haven't had my nice birthday dinner since the restaurants are all closed, but I guess that is just one story of the many we all shall have when this is over. We didn't lose power the other day. Good thing you had your power wall. I've flushed way too many toilets with buckets of water. Happy end of another week. Hugs-Erika

  8. Isn't it amazing what we are capable of when we are required to stay at home? Nearly everything you mentioned revolved around the internet and how it rules our lives right now.

Congrats Aunt CJ. A boy in September.

I bet you are saying how glad you were to install that Power Wall. I bet it was truly worth the cost with this one outage. Happy Friday (still is in my world). I'm off to see what I've missed.

    1. Well, the Internet has been important to me long before Stay at Home. All banking is done online. Keeping up with friend and colleagues from near and far is done online. Monitoring home systems is done online and on and on.

    2. I can't even seem to keep up with friends and blogging buddies. It's a good thing I don't do online banking, and I certainly don't buy anything online.

You remind me of my friend Sally. She has three locks on her front door, and a security alarm system that she leaves turned on all the time. However, she goes online and orders everything in site, as well as does all her banking, etc online, too. I told her if there was a fire, she'd never get out because she feels so "safe" in her home. But she risks all kinds of internet intrusion and says she is perfectly safe there. I'm just the opposite. I seldom lock my front door and I live just four houses from her. However, I only use the internet to keep up with blogger friends. Different strokes and all.

    3. Even though you don’t use the Internet for banking, the businesses that you pay by check are doing their banking electronically.I used to leave the front door unlocked until one night when the girlies were 10 and 6 and having their own slumber party, a strange woman walked through the front door. After that, the front door has always been locked day and night.

  9. My sweet tooth woke up and hubby brought ice-cream :-)
The tooth went into deep-sleep, is hybernating again. Good!
I did a training session and didn´t break down.
    I won´t make it to five, I reckon ;-)
Watching a zoo-series now, which is cute and I am thankful I have two monitors, one for posting/surfing, the other for watching TV/DVD :-)
Virtual-wise I am glad I can say "no". Had a "good idea" for my Brother and weee.... did he tell me off. Well, I keep quiet.
