Five good things that happened this week.
1. Himself had a coupon so we had Outback delivered. Mmmm, coconut shrimp
2. We had a 6 minute power outage. The power wall took over and we didn't even know there was an outage until we looked at the Tesla app
3. New blue shoes arrived. I don't know where I'll be wearing them or when, but when I do, I'll be ready.
4. Himself made mashed potatoes with the little potatoes left in the potato bag. I used his mashies as the top crust for making a Shepherd's pie with the leftover lamb. What a team!
5. The town highway department guys were working in the ditch in front of the house when we left for the post office and the pharmacy. When we got back their dump truck and the police were blocking the driveway. So we had to go get lunch at Five Guys. When we got back the dump trucked had moved up a little so we could squeak into our driveway.
How was your week?
Now that's a great excuse for going for lunch! Love those new shoes. And Shepherds Pie - yummy! Enjoy your day, Valerie
ReplyDeleteI have a pair in navy, but this is more my color 😊
DeleteSounds like a nice week to me. There is nothing like homemade ANYTHING - especially mashed potatoes. A PA Dutch fav where I come from! lol
ReplyDeleteHimself makes great mashies
DeleteDump truck AND police car? Not vehicles that usually team up. I sense a story in there somewhere....... ;)
ReplyDeleteThe police car blocked a lane of traffic as police were directing only one lane.
DeleteOutback delivery. hmmm... Maybe we have a gift card here somewhere ... Your shoes are cute! The color is fun :)
ReplyDeleteMy color. My 3rd pair of blue shoes if you can't one pair of Crocs 😺
Deletesounds good - your week.
ReplyDeletemy week - ....a week ago pulled my back out doing yard work ...really bad...sciatica up and down ...laid in bed a lot but finally eased up and i went for a short walk because the weather is beautiful.
heard from my 18 year old grandson - filled us in on his life, told us he loved us (we basically raised him on and off through his childhood and then he lived with for a year or so...cool kid. He's had a hard life and does amazing despite it.
hmmmm....my feral outside cats love me and the minute we walk out the door they flop on their back ...it's getting hard to walk outside...it's hard being the object of someone's love...;)
uh...been waching the grosbeaks outside my window who have returned for the spring and summer, photographing them when I can.
didn't have much of an appetite this past week but darn no pounds dropped...
so that's a wrap.
may your coming week be great with no trucks blocking your driveway. We have gone through that quite a bit up here. power company installing new pole...county tree trimmers...such a joy, lol
Your grandson sounds like a great kid. And so cool the ferrals have adopted you into their clowder.
DeleteGlad you had a good week! I loving your new blue shoes and the coconut shrimp from Outback sounds delicious! You and your hubby make a great team 😀. Happy Friday and Weekend! Keep well! Hugs, Jo x
ReplyDeleteI can hardly wait to wear my new blue shoes
DeleteI like those new shoes, I'm sure you will be wearing them soon.
ReplyDeleteAll the best Jan
Yup, soon as summer arrives
DeleteThough my week was not bad, I think you had a better one, CJ! Shrimp - sounds so yummy!
ReplyDeleteOutback coconut shrimp is awesome.
DeleteMy week was not bad, I had 5 guys also. Boy did it taste good. It was ice not to be a hermit for a bit. Are those your blue shoes? Nice. Happy weekend.
ReplyDelete😻 Five Guys. I ordered the shoes in that color, but nicked the picture from the shoe website. Merinos wool shoes. so comfy. I have a pair in navy. My inside shoes, and the blue ones will be my outside shoes.
Delete#4 and #5 sure are my favorite! And guess what! I googled 5 guys, and they are in Germany, too - too far away from here, though. But if I ever have to go to Berlin again, I´ll remember that!
ReplyDeleteHere, not much good. Little "Corinna" seems to disappear, the coughing gets less. It´s a start. Sadly I have noo idea if it is the virus or just a flu. Testing not available...
If you ever get to Berlin and Five Guys, you will love them. Fresh ingredients. Real hamburgers (ground beef) and handcut French fries. Do you call them crisps? Heaven.
DeleteSorry you’re not feeling well. Monitor yourself carefully. My young cousin was diagnosed with Covid last Wed. She had cold like symptoms and everyone thought it was a sinus infection. She kept calling the Dr. and finally got tested. Maybe keep calling your doctor, too.
I apologize for not visiting sooner. I was awakened Friday by such a loud noise, it shook my entire house. It also knocked my electricity out for over 20 hours. Then I couldn't get on the internet, but AT&T was FINALLY able to reset my internet from their facility (for a change). Does that tell you how much better your week was than mine?
ReplyDeleteSnazzy shoes, CJ. And you found a good excuse to get take out twice in one week. I haven't had anything but my own cooking since March 14, so I am a bit envious of you eating take out. BUT, I'm too afraid of the virus to trust someone else to fix my food.
Did a transformer get hit with lightning? So that's what sent Bleubeard running for a hidey hole and Squiggles to stay glued to you all day.
DeleteAs to take out, there has been no evidence of the virus being transferred to food products. So get the food out of the containers it comes in and heat the food in the microwave.
This video of a doctor shows how to take care of grocery foods and fast foods. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TKx-F4AKteE
Those new shoes look comfy! You and your hubby always have some yummy food! LOL! Thanks for the information above, about reheating food, you get from take out!
