Whatcha Doin?

I'm setting up the Christmas Pageant, my favorite part of decorating. This year with the kittens around, some changes had to be made to keep curious kitties and fragile decorations safe.

The Hummel Nativity the Brother gave us a souvenir from a trip to Germany our first Christmas is too small and one of those fragile things. Hunting around for a less precious Nativity, I found a rubber duckie version, and I thought it would fit in with my warped vision of the scene.

The past couple of years, the Young One and I staged the pageant on the dining room table, but with the Eldest planning on coming for a visit, I thought setting up on the kitchen table would work better. We'd be able to eat at the flat file (dining room table) Bruce and Quint think we need a bigger boat.

Whatcha doin?

  1. I always LOVE your nativity menagerie. It's even funnier this year, I think. LOVE IT!! I see you have the TARDIS and the mice out again.

    1. The TARDIS and a Dalek made an appearance the past couple of years, but they are really salt and pepper shakers and glass. So this year, the Funk Pop TARDIS and 10th Doctor

  2. Fun decorations. Fragile china and cats do not go well together! Have a fun with planning your Christmas, Valerie

  3. Yes, Hummels and kittens don't really work together, do they? This Nativity looks like a a lot of fun. Are those toy Peeps in the back right of the photo. Hope you don't get a lot of snow. Us either-smile.

    1. Yes, there are 3 Peep bunnies and 1 Peep Chick. They are the Easter Contingent and are pushing for Christmas to be over. Like Santa pushes Halloween and Thanksgiving to be over before either of those holidays start. Supposed to be a dusting to 2 inches. Way too much snow if you ask me!

    1. Indeed you do. The Orca (boat), Quint (the captain of the Orca), and Bruce (then name of the mechanical shark in the movie)

Oh, I´m so boring - I´m doing the taxes.
Years ago we were into kitch, but, having no kids...

I´ll watch THE Christmas movie (It´s a Wonderful Life) and that´s about it. We don´t have Christmas markets even. Again.

    1. Hardly boring. We watch "It's A Wonderful Life" the other night. If it makes you feel any better, we don't have Christmas markets either. Not like the ones they have in Germany. At least not in my corner of the world
