Enders is known for their dahlias. I was surprised they were in bloom as I though they were an August flower and would have passed. At breakfast one of the deacons told us, they had a rare and very expensive black dahlia. After lunch, we went on a quest to look for it, but couldn't find it.
I chose a light blue and teal color combination to paint the acanthus leaves around the hummingbird. The color scheme was very beachy, and I received a lot of compliments on it. A two cowboy hat day.

Too bad you didn't find the elusive black dahlia. Very rare indeed. Looks like you were enjoying your time there, at least. I like how you mixed the colors right on your page.
The name Gunther comes from a character comedian Red Skelton created back in the 1950s, a seagull named Gunther and I think Gunther had a girlfriend named Gertrude. I will happily carry all your luggage if you take me with you to OZ. I speak a little bit of Strine also 😺
We had a wonderful quest searching for the black dahlia.
My dahlia's are still blooming, although these chilly nights will probably stop that soon. I like your journal page CJ. Too bad you never found the elusive black dahlia. That must have been a great quest however, and I bet you found lots of other interesting things.

There were so many plots filled with dahlias. All shape, all sizes, no black 😺But it was fun to go look
