T Stands For How My Garden Grows

With some nice weather on hand, I decided to go outside to do a little yardwork and to get some fresh air.

People in town were putting teddy bears in their windows so parents could drive the littles around on a Teddy Bear Hunt. Left to right, Bink (panther), Ted (bear), and Blue (polar bear) wait to be counted.

Though a few days early, I decided to put out the Spring decorations. The wreath was made by Lady Caer Morgana from The Wiccan Life

I really needed to see the bright colors of the April garden flag

Spring has arrived about 2 months earlier than usual. A single crocus greeted me as I made my rounds.

The little crocus is on the far left of the garden under the Japanese maple. A few daffodil shoots are coming up, too.

A few daffodils by the brick path that leads to the oil fill. I might have to relocate these bulbs in the Fall so the Spring flowers won't get trampled on when the oil man makes his delivery.

Still a little too early for the Lily of the Valley

My tea where I left it while working

Rotrow! Leaves of three! Let them be! Poison Ivy still in her Fall colors

A tulip among the daffodils

Just like being mindful of where I was grabbing dead leaves and sticks, I had to watch where I was placing my big feet so I wouldn't trample the daffs.

Some early show offs

The last load of the day in my little, red wagon

I made a dent.

Dedo agreed I should call it a day.

  2. This early spring is nice with this stay at home and the virus. Wow, you have daffodils already. We're not there quite yet but any green starting is pretty welcome. And at least we can get outside and do some yard work. I'm OK being home as long as I can get a bit of outside time. They are doing the teddy bears here in NH too. Happy T day my friend. Stay safe. 1. The daffodils are a pleasant surprise. As you know we don't usually see the daffodils until end of April because they are buried under snow 😺

  4. such a cute idea to put teddy bears in the windows for the kiddos:) I think we are all looking for the colors and signs of spring especially now! I'm seeing some daffodils and grape hyacinths in my neighbors yard. And my two lilac bushes have bright green budding leaves. Stay well, and happy T day!

  7. I enjoyed seeing the signs of spring in your yard. that was funny about the poison ivy. I was using my hands to get some leaves out around some ivy ground cover this morning-and the thought that I didn't have to worry about poison ivy or oak at the lake house-at lease I have not seen any as of yet. at the woods house it was Always a concern. and I managed several times not seeing it.
Loved the spring flag and the bears in the window-too sweet I love that idea.
stay safe and Happy T hugs Kathy

  9. Aww, I love the Teddy bear idea, CJ. Lots of signs of spring in your garden.

I just scrolled and noticed Godzilla eating Peeps. I burst out laughing. Thanks for that!

  13. Once again, I've been kicked off the internet, although ALL providers are seemingly doing their best to keep everyone BUT ME online.

I've been seeing others placing bears in their windows. Sadly, I gave my bear away. In England, it's rainbows in the windows. Your three make a grand gesture.

Your gardens are looking good. You worked hard to clean the dead sticks in your yard. Really impressive and fun to see the "fruits" (or should I say sticks) of your labor.

The irony of your little wagon is, my friend Sally bought two of them a couple of years ago, one for me and one for her. She asked if I wanted it, but I said NO because I need something with more stability that won't tear if I throw jagged things into it, or I won't have to wash when I haul wet dirt in it, or it won't collapse under the weight of large rocks I want to move. Looks like it was made for your needs, though. She sent mine back.

It's good to stay hydrated while out working, and your tea is just the perfect thing for you.

Thanks for sharing your garden update, your spring door and wreath, your spring flag, and your tea with us for T this Tuesday.

    1. The wagon was handy for picking up sticks. I have a wheeled cart I like better, but it's full of dirt, too heavy for me to wheel up to the woods. And I haven't dug out the other cart to take some dirt and dump it a little at a time. Glad you were able to get online

You have done a really good job of tidying. I like your little trolley thing. Perfect for this sort of job.
I smiled at the Teddies. Unfortunately here the children are not allowed out.

    1. Here in Massachusetts where I live, we are under a Stay at Home Advisory. We can go out for essentials like shopping or the pharmacy. We can go to parks but not in large groups and must keep social distancing. In my town since it's rural and there are not sidewalks, most of the parents will drive their littles to look for the Teddies.

  19. Your April flag is such a bright spot! And the daffodils are always a treat. I bought some in bloom at the grocery store and put them in a pot. Now we'll see if they come back next year. I get a kick out of seeing the photos of the bears in windows :) Such a fun idea.

We seem to have some Teddy bears in windows in the UK now for children to go on a bear hunt - what a good idea!
We also have folk putting rainbows in their windows which I intend to do!

  22. I want a little red wagon! So cute! I have been doing so much yard cleaning, and I still have tones more to do. Where does this all come from? LOL! You are right, Spring has come early this year! Your decorations are so pretty! I have to write to you about Lady Caer Morgana (Kims' blog). I already e-mailed her, to explain, that I can't comment. It keeps sending me to some place else. But, I see you can still comment? Like I said, I will e-mail you CJ! Take Care, Big Hugs!
