T Stands For...

Sad Face.

While I was doing the dishes, the Pyrex measuring cup slipped out of my hands and broke the handle of my favorite mug. The mug the Young One gave me for Christmas a year ago. It's not good to drink out of anymore. Can't re-heat a cold cup of tea in the microwave. What to do?

Give it a new life as a pen and pencil cup. Placed where I can see it because it makes me laugh. So me. 😺

Drop by hosts, Bleubeard and Elizabeth's blog to find out what the rest of the T Stands For gang is up to. If you want to play, include in your Tuesday post a beverage or container for a beverage. Don't forget to link your blog to Bleubeard and Elizabeth's page.

  2. Great idea. I have all my cracked cups and mugs and jugs in use for storage of various things. Good way of recycling. Have a happy T Day, stay safe, Valerie

  3. I'm glad you found a way to repurpose your mug. I like that saying. Show me one cat that isn't true for. :-) I hope your snow turned to rain yesterday. Happy T-Day!

    1. Oh, and the snow is still on grassy surfaces but melted off the road and slushy on the walk and stairs. Since it's supposed to get to 50 today, I'm not going to bother sweeping it off. There's no place to go even if I do! 😺

    God bless.

  5. I think that is a very good use for your beloved mug, seeing it all the time, I have mugs that I’ve been given by my sons and they are very precious but at least I will know what to do with them if I’m unfortunate enough to break one.
    Have a great T Day, Jan x

    1. Yup, it was useless to drink from, and I didn't want to throw it away.I'm happy I could find a new way to use it.

  7. A great way to re purpose your favorite mug despite not being able to use it for drink. Especially since it was given as a gift from your child.
My little does dishes and broke 7 plates and 1 mug the other day. 2 of the plates were favorites and sadly, none of them can be repaired. Oh well, such is life.
    Happy Tea Day,
    Kate

  9. That sad face cat is funny. Not so funny is your mug, but you found a very clever solution! You are very smart! We got about 4 inches of snow here. Hopefully with this war sun it will melt. I am NOT going to shovel. Refuse to. Have a super T day. and Keep washing those hands. Hugs-Erika

    1. We got about an inch. Still sticking to the grass and the car. Since there's no place to go, no sense in sweeping off the snow

  13. I thought Pyrex wasn't supposed to break. Guess I was wrong, because your cup is living proof. I love how you repurposed it, though. AND the sentiment is SO YOU, too. Thanks for sharing this recommissioned cup with us for T this Tuesday. BTW, I have a couple of favorite mugs that are cracked, so I also use them as pen holders. None are as cute as yours, though.

  14. Perfect reuse of that mug. My favorite pint glass got a chip on the rim. It now resides in my craft area for pens and such.

    1. While cleaning out the pantry I found some kitty paper plates from Ink's last birthday. I placed the broken handle from the cup where the mouth was, photographed, and did some clean up in PSP
