Sad Face.
While I was doing the dishes, the Pyrex measuring cup slipped out of my hands and broke the handle of my favorite mug. The mug the Young One gave me for Christmas a year ago. It's not good to drink out of anymore. Can't re-heat a cold cup of tea in the microwave. What to do?
Give it a new life as a pen and pencil cup. Placed where I can see it because it makes me laugh. So me. 😺
Drop by hosts, Bleubeard and Elizabeth's blog to find out what the rest of the T Stands For gang is up to. If you want to play, include in your Tuesday post a beverage or container for a beverage. Don't forget to link your blog to Bleubeard and Elizabeth's page.
Isn´t that even better this way? You´ll see it all the time!
ReplyDeleteHappy T-day!
Bestimmt 😺
DeleteGreat idea. I have all my cracked cups and mugs and jugs in use for storage of various things. Good way of recycling. Have a happy T Day, stay safe, Valerie
ReplyDeleteIt is a good way to recycle especially since I didn't want to let go of it
DeleteYes, I know that feeling!
DeleteI'm glad you found a way to repurpose your mug. I like that saying. Show me one cat that isn't true for. :-) I hope your snow turned to rain yesterday. Happy T-Day!
ReplyDeleteSo true! 😺
DeleteOh, and the snow is still on grassy surfaces but melted off the road and slushy on the walk and stairs. Since it's supposed to get to 50 today, I'm not going to bother sweeping it off. There's no place to go even if I do! 😺

DeleteWhat a lovely cup. I'm envious.
ReplyDeleteGod bless.
😊
DeleteI think that is a very good use for your beloved mug, seeing it all the time, I have mugs that I’ve been given by my sons and they are very precious but at least I will know what to do with them if I’m unfortunate enough to break one.
ReplyDeleteHave a great T Day, Jan x
Yup, it was useless to drink from, and I didn't want to throw it away.I'm happy I could find a new way to use it.
DeleteI would be sad too-but at least the whole cup did not shatter and you can now enjoy it every day great repurpose-hugs Happy T Kathy
ReplyDeleteYes, I'm glad it was only the handle
DeleteA great way to re purpose your favorite mug despite not being able to use it for drink. Especially since it was given as a gift from your child.
ReplyDeleteMy little does dishes and broke 7 plates and 1 mug the other day. 2 of the plates were favorites and sadly, none of them can be repaired. Oh well, such is life.
Happy Tea Day,
Kate
Aw, the poor little, I hope she doesn't feel too bad about breaking some dishes.
DeleteWhat a great idea to re-use that fabulous mug - I love it! I have an old mug that I broke in my craft area too, it reminds me everyday of a very dear friend - perfect 😁. Thanks for the smiles! Take care and sending Happy T Day wishes! Hugs, Jo x
ReplyDeleteThanks, Jo. 😊
DeleteThat sad face cat is funny. Not so funny is your mug, but you found a very clever solution! You are very smart! We got about 4 inches of snow here. Hopefully with this war sun it will melt. I am NOT going to shovel. Refuse to. Have a super T day. and Keep washing those hands. Hugs-Erika
ReplyDeleteWe got about an inch. Still sticking to the grass and the car. Since there's no place to go, no sense in sweeping off the snow
DeleteGood job of re-utilizing! :D
ReplyDeleteAnd hopefully I won't knock it off the desk!
Deleteawe, too bad about the broken handle but I love that you were able to repurpose it and it continues to make you smile. Happy T day!
ReplyDeleteYup, I'm glad it didn't shatter
DeleteWhat an adorable mug, and it makes quite a statement now and gets to stay out on display all the time :) Happy T Tuesday!
ReplyDeleteI used it every day for tea so it was on display all the time, too. 😺
DeleteIt was reincarnated as a pencil cup - very cool!
ReplyDeleteIndeed
DeleteI thought Pyrex wasn't supposed to break. Guess I was wrong, because your cup is living proof. I love how you repurposed it, though. AND the sentiment is SO YOU, too. Thanks for sharing this recommissioned cup with us for T this Tuesday. BTW, I have a couple of favorite mugs that are cracked, so I also use them as pen holders. None are as cute as yours, though.
ReplyDeleteThe Pyrex measuring cup didn't break, it slipped out of my hands while I was washing dishes and crashed onto the black cat mug
DeletePerfect reuse of that mug. My favorite pint glass got a chip on the rim. It now resides in my craft area for pens and such.
ReplyDeleteMakes our tool caddies a lot classier
DeleteThat is a brilliant way to keep on using a favourite mug, a super idea.
ReplyDeleteStay safe and well.
Yvonne xx
Thanks, Yvonne, you too
DeleteGreat idea! Iris is right: you can now look at it all the time and it will give you a smile...
ReplyDeleteStay safe dear friend,
Happy (belated) T-Day,
Hugs,
Lisca
Thanks Lisca, you stay safe, too
DeleteRecycling your mug. Great idea!
ReplyDeleteHow did you make the kitty face?
Stay safe. Stay healthy.
While cleaning out the pantry I found some kitty paper plates from Ink's last birthday. I placed the broken handle from the cup where the mouth was, photographed, and did some clean up in PSP
DeleteAww, that's too bad, CJ, but I'm glad the cup in it's new spot still makes you smile. Great idea.
ReplyDeleteHappy T-day! Eileen xx
It's in a good spot and I can see it from pretty much anywhere in the room.
DeleteOf course! I wouldn't have expected anything else. It would make me smile too! Belated Happy T Day, Chrisx
ReplyDeleteSo pleased you found a great way to re-use your mug.
ReplyDeleteAll the best Jan
I love how you used it! So happy, that the main part wasn't wrecked! It's an excellent mug!
