While doing yard clean up, I found three garden kites that survived the elements. The three flags celebrate my long-time, virtual, friendship with Tiggy as part of an exchange last year, a quote to remind me to be patient, and our anniversary last year.
I'm always amazed at how tough Kraft paper is. The kites are faded, wrinkled, crumpled, but still legible. May we all be so resilient.
Wow, I'm surprised at how well they stood up to the elements. They still look good with their "weathered" look. (Teddy said the bear is his favorite one.)
ReplyDeleteTell Teddy, the bear is one of my favorites, too. 🐻
DeleteI like their weathered look! :D
ReplyDeleteMe, too.
DeleteYes, may we all be that resilient indeed. I hope to hold up as well as your garden kites :)
ReplyDeleteIn the face of what is going on in the world and country, this is a very positive and hopeful sign. How great you found the kites, but even better that you recognized their significance.
ReplyDeleteI've become very concerned over the COVID-19 virus. My friend Joseph, who lives in CA, told me to disinfect any and everything coming into my house, like my mail and my groceries. He said to disinfect my mailbox, too. I had several outings planned in April that I may cancel. No sense tempting fate. PLEASE be careful.
Working from home, I'm already pretty isolated. Himself's college just cancelled a meeting he was to have on Friday, and after Spring break next week, all classes will be held online. Hopefully, social distancing will slow the spread of the virus. And isn't it wonderful we can keep in touch with friends through social media.

DeleteNIce find in your yard. They look like they would make great journal pages or collage pieces for sure. Hugs-ERika
ReplyDeleteThat would be a fun idea
DeleteI'm fearful about putting my St Francis out; I'd be most upset if something happened to it; wind, sun or rain ~~~ ♥♥
ReplyDeleteI'm flattered that you want to keep it forever or until one of the tabbies finds it and plays with the kite tail. 😺
DeleteThey are beauty- and meaningful! Love the blog-luck-design, too!
ReplyDeleteWe need all the luck we can get now
DeleteWhat a great find, I thought your resident squirrel may have made off with them ...lol 😉. They are still looking fabulous too! Happy and creative wishes! Hugs, Jo x
ReplyDeleteI haven't seen the squirrels running around. I don't know whether that is good or bad.
Deletei like those little kites. When I'm out walking various neighborhoods and see those hanging about if I can do it without people seeing i always take photos of them.
ReplyDeleteIt's fun to see the things people put in their gardens.
Deletewhen I owned my own house the things I would put in my yard/garden was fun - I miss that so much. When I moved I downsized so much i gave away some really nice patio tables and chair sets. kind of could kick myself now. But I wanted to go minimalist, lol..
DeleteThat is cool! Great message for us all CJ! Thank you! Big Hugs!
