T Stands for Happy Mail

Kathy in the Ozarks sent an illuminated, perpetual calendar book with illuminated, manuscript pages illustrating the life and occupations of women during the Middle Ages. The book is a welcome addition to my library and will be a source of medieval motifs in my work.

Kathy also included this delightful, small, pamphlet stitched book withe some watercolor paintings

And since this is Tuesday and a beverage reference is needed, I found this illustration from the book. The reference states the illumination is "Drawing Vinegar from a Keg". I think this wasn't translated correctly. The woman is filling her pitcher with wine. Since this is for our tea party, let's say she's making sangria.

Drop by hosts, Bleubeard and Elizabeth's blog to find out what the rest of the T Stands For gang is up to. If you want to play, include in your Tuesday post a beverage or container for a beverage. Don't forget to link your blog to Bleubeard and Elizabeth's page.

  5. Some very thoughtful gifts from Kathy. That medieval book does sound interesting. I love reading books set in that time period although I am quite thankful I live in modern times. Life then must have been so difficult.
    Happy Tea Day,
    Kate
