How Does Your Garden Grow?

Some bunny ate some morning glory seeds and left a morning glory behind in the middle of the lawn.

The morning glories in the pots are top heavy and go over in the slightest breeze

They are wilted and

tired of the heat and humidity.

Timex didn't eat all the mini sunflower seeds I planted. Looks like 3 blooms coming soon.

My area is in drought and it shows.

Ink's garden doesn't look too bad.

The milkweeds don't seem to mind the heat and humidity

Neither does the bee as she goes about her business among the flat top golden rod

It's been too hot to weed the Zen garden. That's my story, and I'm sticking to it.

The moderate drought conditions are stressing the trees. Some of them are turning color early and dropping leaves.

A mourning dove feather

Dedo peeks through the hydrangea which doesn't seem to be effected by the drought.

  1. our garden looks quite good. Drought seems to be affecting a lot of places. My balcony flowers are nor surviving the heat well, the earth is probably too shallow in the pots etc. Have a good week to come!

    1. I'm thinking about get a couple of horse troughs to plant in like Himself's garden. Our soil is very clay.

  2. Horse troughs are a great way to 'container garden' and IMHO are better than smaller pots. That would solve the problem of the morning glory pots tipping over in the wind. Just sayin',,,,,lol, ;)

    1. Yeah, I thought of that, too, and the trough is probably deep enough to hold a proper trellis

  3. It's looking good - even if you are in dought the garden is green! and yes, humidity should take a hike and stay in Jamaica. In 2017 we went there to see my son get married. I was shocked to say the least . It was in November and the hotel rooms had sliding doors which when you looked out at any hour of the day - the glass was sweating bullets...the humidity never never never stopped. i was miserable except it was so darn beautiful you couldn't stay miserable for too long.

    1. I don't mind the heat and humidity. Summer is so short here. Winter lasts a good 10 months. Spring is usually cold and wet, a lot like Winter, but not as much snow. At least you don't have to shovel humidity 😺

    2. that's true but sometimes it feels like you are walking through the moisture I always get a sluggish feeling in my body when out walking. But yeah winter can last ..at least here...sometimes from October to May so that is a long time - but it's not consecutives snow storms, thank God.

  4. I am glad the weekend cooled off a bit, but it is damp and raw here. I wish it would just rain and help the dry. But it is what it is. I think we're all in the same boat with the drought. Nice garden photos this week. Happy new one.

    1. Sure wasn’t a beach weekend this weekend. We’ve been getting a little rain, don’t think we’ll get much more than to wet the ground

  5. I think golden rod is such a pretty flower, and bees like it :) We're still hot, but I'm almost feeling a touch of Autumn in the air as highs sometimes drop into the lower 90s ;)
