T Stands for Teaticket

 

This card is from my teacher, Gerry Jackson Kerdok. When I saw the card, I knew I had to use it as my tea ticket for the Tea post. See what I did there? 😺

This year, Gerry moved to a bungalow, seaside home. The name of the village is Teaticket. So cute and perfect for my post.

Gerry's card is not only a Christmas card, but doubles as a we've moved card. So clever Through the magic of Paint Shop Pro, I used some of the holly and berries from Gerry's card to cover the address.

The Bunny Trail

And then the rains came and all the snow washed away. Fortunately, it didn't wash away into the basement.

Christmas Night and 50 oF outside!

Out came the sun and dried up all the rain. The bunny having breakfast.

Sunshine on solar panels powering the house

High winds from the rain storm brought down some branches, but didn't down trees or power lines in my area.

The only pile of snow left is where the plow pushed the snow. Dedo doesn't look happy.

After the warm, the deep freeze.

With a high wind warning for the storm, I took in the garden flag.

It was time to change it anyway.

The Friday Five Good Things

 

Five good things that happened this week.

1. The television in the living room came with Chromecast, but it was a pain to operate so Himself ordered a new Roku device. It arrived and he installed it. 

2. The Young One and I played hairdresser. She cut Himself's hair and my hair. I cut her hair.

3. The Eldest sent a beautiful floral arrangement.

4. We played Elves and drove around delivering gifts to Himself's Brother. I hung the bag on the doorknob and rang the bell. Himself belted out the opening bars of "Jingle Bells" on the car horn. Our SIL answered the door as I got to the car so we yelled Merry Christmas at each other. We dropped off a package at The Nephew. No doorbell ringing or car horn tooting. We didn't want to wake the littles if it was naptime. At the Brother's, I got caught on the Ring doorbell. We ended up having a nice little visit outside and catching up with The Brother and Wife.

5. I baked awesome cinnamon rolls. They were supposed to be for breakfast, but I started them a little too late so we had them in the afternoon.

T Stands For The Christmas Pageant

 While I love our Christmas trees, the decorations that really make my heart sing are the figures that make up the Christmas pageant

A traditional creche with a touch, okay, a lot of whimsy thrown in. The pageant was displayed on my mother's hope chest, but with a few new additions each year, I was running out of room. The dining room table became the perfect location to spread out a bit.

The Young One also enjoys the silliness of the pageant tradition. She graciously contributed to the merriment with an assortment of her treasures. The theme has always been everyone is welcome.

She added her Dodo Bird. I asked her to make me a small, gargoyle like my garden, Dedo, to protect the stable.

When she was little, Grandpa (my dad) collected tiny figurines from boxes of Red Rose tea. My parents drank gallons of Red Rose so Dad could collect all the circus figures, wild animals, and domestic animals. He gave them to The Young One as she loved to play with the little figures which she called her chinas. Two china kitties take a cat nap at the edge of the stable.

Since this is tea day, Hat shares her teacup with the Granpa.

The Young One also hand-sewed a pair of felt cardinals

When the Young One was a teen and in college, she was an aide at the Worcester Art Museum. In one of the sculpting classes, the instructor let her play along, and she made a gargoyle. When the gargoyle was not in the pageant, he lived in the studio on top of the computer tower. The table got bumped. The gargoyle jumped and his wings and horns broke off. I bought some Crayolo Model Magic, an air dry type of clay, and asked the Young One if she could make me another larger gargoyle. She even added fangs and eyes.
