    I never saw that film, but I heard that when John Wayne won best actor, he said something about if he'd known at the time, he'd have worn a patch over one eye sooner. That's DEFINITELY not verbatim, though.

    Love True Grit... big John Wayne fan here. Even the remake is pretty darn good.. You know usually when you hear of a remake you groan Nooooooo..... but this actually turned out pretty good.. Hugs! deb
