Sutton Town Common Tree Lighting 2020
Five good things that happened this week.
1. Amazon delivered a package in the middle of a snowstorm!
2. With sirens blaring the fire department and police drove Santa and a skinny elf around my side of town. People came out of their houses to wave.
3. The handyman brought the big television up from the basement and mounted it on the wall in the living room.
4. The male cardinal visited the feeder very early one morning.
5. We were going to drive out to see if we could catch a glimpse of the Aurora Borealis, but both nights it was too cloudy. We drove around town looking at Christmas lights.
How was your week?
You are so lucky to be in the "zone" where you can see the Aurora Borealis. No such luck where I live. I think I need a handyman. Lucky you. Great that you got to see Santa. They used to have a Christmas parade downtown each Christmas, but I've heard nothing this year.
ReplyDeleteThe Aurora usually isn't visible this far "south" and when it is, it's always too cloudy.
DeleteVery cute idea for a town to do in this weird year! :D
ReplyDeleteThey light the trees on the Common every year. This year, no spectators were allowed so the skit was a cute way to add some holiday cheer.
DeleteGood for Amazon! Hope the weekend will be good, too. Valerie
ReplyDeleteRain predicted and not snow so that's a good start 😺
DeleteThat sounds like a fun way to do a Christmas parade. My daughter was hoping to see the Aurora Borealis in MN but didn't. It's an exciting prospect!
ReplyDeleteYour daughter probably has a better shot of seeing it than I do. Himself and I were talking about it as seeing the Aurora is on our bucket list. If we did see it, we would be one step closer to the bucket. So maybe it's all good. 😺
Deletethat was a cute video; thought for a minute the grinch was going to "moon" the sheriff ;) ♥♥☺☺ thanx for sharing !!

DeleteThat video was fun to watch! It reminds me of what our small town does at times. I don't think they've ever done one about the Grinch. My week was uneventful except for a trip off the mountain. Other than that, I don't even know where the week went - ..wow. one da y it was Monday and now Friday. I wish we could see the Auroras in our area. I'm looking forward though to the Christmas Star. I will be out looking for it.
ReplyDeleteYes, we're looking forward to seeing the Christmas star, too. Hopefully, it won't be cloudy.
DeleteI keep thinking I'm going to forget it and find out after the fact. I should make a note and put it on the refrigerator. I get focused on to something and the world disappears around me.
DeleteI went out looking for the aurora as it was really clear just after 10, but no sign of any action. Of course it might have too many trees, but oh well. That was a great video. I want to go look at lights one night, but not with the rain tomorrow. Stay dry. Hugs-Erika
ReplyDeleteYou had to be at a high elevation to look to the horizon. Weather dudes said it would only look like a faint grey green glow. Not like the glowing ribbons that are seen at extreme northern latitudes.
Delete5 wondrous things for sure.
ReplyDeleteLike most weeks, it was a good week.
DeleteSounds like a fabulous week full of festive cheer! A Christmas parade went past our house today too including Santa in his sleigh and the Coca Cola lorry - holidays are coming ...lol 😀. Happy wishes! Hugs, Jo x
ReplyDeleteHow fun to have the Santa parade go by your house.
DeleteSounds like a pretty cool week to me! I just LOVE driving around looking at everyone's Christmas lights! Makes me so happy! lol
ReplyDeleteIt was fun. Though boring in a couple of the developments. Every house decorated in small white lights. They must have had an HOA agreement or something
DeleteSounds like another good week. :-)
ReplyDeleteMost weeks are
DeleteA good week! Thanks for the video!! I loved it! Big Hugs!
