The Friday Five Good Things

Five good things that happened this week.

1. Started my 6th year keeping a Good Things diary

2. Found a new follower on Twitter. Turns out, we worked at the same software house 30+ years ago.

3. Ordered a new, Winter jacket. It's cobalt blue!

4. Grateful to Divers and Sundry for being able to share current events even when it feels like the end of the world.

5. We watched The Wizard of Oz, one of my favorite horror movies, and had fun singing songs and running lines with exaggerated Boston accent in honor of the Tin Man (Jack Haley) from Newton, Massachusetts, just outside of Boston. If I only had a haht. 💙

How was your week?

  2. All good things for the new year. Thank you for my card. Always great to find a surprise in the mail. The Wizard of Oz creeped me out until I was in my 20s. Miss Gultch gave me nightmares. I do love Somewhere over the Rainbow...I have separated it from the movie.😘

  4. LOL Had to laugh at 'running lines' with the movie! I thought we might be the only ones that do that! ;)

  5. I agree about needing someone to share the week with, and Divers and Sundry was a good place to go. I am going to be optimistic that this event helped some people see the current political situation in more objective eyes, but we aren't beyond this yet. I also have a new cobalt blue winter jacket. It is for super cold weather which we have not yet got so it is still sitting in the bag. If I don't use it this year then that will be OK too. Sounds like you had lots of good things in your week. Not too too cold today but lots of nice sunshine. Hope your day is going well.

    1. The sunshine is nice, but it needs to be 50 or 60 degrees warmer!

  6. Thanks for the hat tip (or whatever we're calling it these days...) It's nice to have some contact with folks to discuss these happenings. I'm still in shock :(

I agree The Wizard of Oz is a horror movie, though I've gotten some odd looks when I've said it out loud. Cobalt blue is a gorgeous color and seems well-suited to winterwear :)

  8. Our week has been ok. We have been able to enjoy a few walks, but had to dress up warm as the temperatures have only just been above freezing!

    Your new coat sounds nice.

    Enjoy your weekend.

    All the best Jan

  9. 6 years for a diary! That's amazing CJ! Cool finding a co-worker 30 years ago! Your winter jacket sounds pretty! I have to admit, I have a love/hate relationship with The Wizard Of Oz. I don't know why? Maybe it's because it's a horror film! LOL! Big Hugs!

  10. Your winter coat is my favorite color. One of my kitchen colors, in fact.

I read an "argument" about Wizard of Oz being a horror film, so now I look at it a different way, too. For me, it's SO Kansas.

I was pleased to join Divers and Sundry's conversation, too. It was what gave me courage to share what I did today.

Congrats on a six year milestone.
