One Sunday morning earlier in the month, I made Zucchini Bread Waffles. Included in the recipe is a recipe for a cream cheese syrup. I didn't have the cream cheese on hand. Besides, I prefer my waffles with a dusting of powdered sugar.
I also had tea in the souvenir mug I got when I visited the U.S.S. Albacore Museum when I went to Camp Ogunquit with my friend, Teague.

CJ, the waffle sounds faboulous. Even the cream cheese syrup sounds fun although I would have skipped it too. I actually prefer my waffles with cheese - strange I know. Fun new mug too - I love mugs that bring back memories. Happy T-day and hugz
ReplyDeleteI wish the Dollhouse was bigger so I could collect more mugs when traveling
Deletezucchini turns up in so many unexpected places… this is a new one to me!
ReplyDeletebest… mae at maefood.blogspot.com
I wasn't sure when I first tried the recipe, but the waffles were a big hit
DeleteI have a fetish for collecting coffee mugs. Amazingly I haven't gotten one on this trip yet.
ReplyDeleteYou need to remedy that
DeleteI like your new mug CJ. And those waffles sound great. (Thanks for the recipe link-I printed it off). I haven't made waffles in a very long time, and this sounds like a fun change of pace from the regular plain batter ones. Happy T day. hugs-Erika
ReplyDeleteIt's like zucchini bread in waffle form
DeleteI like regular sugar on my pancakes. Husband thinks I'm nuts! 😇
ReplyDeleteYou are nuts, but we love you anyway. 😉Stay safe!
DeleteOhhh the waffle sounds so good. Something I will try. Have a great day today.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy!
DeleteGreat breakfast and cool mug CJ! My favorite syrup of all time is Karo syrup... but as an older adult i use sugar free maple.. lol Looks delish! Hubs is my breakfast chef! Hugs! deb
ReplyDeleteMy mother used to make us gargle with Karo syrup when we had a sore throat. As a kid, I didn't know it was used for other things. 😸
DeleteNot much for sweets, but wee. I have a waffle maker, too and need to use it again - happy T-Day!
ReplyDeleteSweets? This is a way to eat your vegetables 😸
DeleteLove your new mug, what a beautiful blue! Enjoy your waffles and happy T Day, Valerie
ReplyDeleteJust my color
DeleteZuccini waffles sounds delicious!!
ReplyDeleteThey are like zucchini bread but with dents to hold the syrup or powdered sugar 😸
DeleteYour waffles look good and I bet they are delicious. I don't really know what cream cheese syrup might be and would definitely prefer the powdered sugar as well. Happy T day!
ReplyDeleteI think the cream cheese syrup is more like a thin icing that's cream cheese flavored? I'd rather have the powdered sugar
DeleteIt's a waffle, so I know I'd love it :) I'm clearing out old mugs to donate, so I got a kick out of you getting a new one lol Happy T Tuesday
ReplyDeleteI love submarines so had to get one after visiting the Albacore
DeleteThat waffle looks so good - yum! So good with maple syrup too 😊. I love your mug, a fab souvenir from your travels. Happy T Day wishes! Hugs Jo x
ReplyDeleteIt's my new favorite mug
DeleteOh no! Your forgot to call. I missed the waffles and they look awfully good:)
ReplyDeleteYou must have been in DC when I tried to call. 😉
DeleteI have never had zucchini waffles but I bet I would love them.
ReplyDeleteHappy Tea Day,
Kate
You would and I bet your kidlets would, too
DeleteAt least you used the powdered sugar, even if you left out the cream cheese and syrup. It looks good. To be honest, I haven't seen my waffle iron in at least four years. Your waffle looks perfect.
ReplyDeleteThat's a lovely new mug you got on your trip. Nice way to remember the good time you had and you can celebrate each time you use it for your tea. Thanks for sharing your waffle and recipe, and your new mug with us for T this Tuesday, dear CJ.
The waffle pictured is from one of the later batches. The first ones didn't look great 😸
DeleteYou had me at Zucchini Waffles. I had to go to the recipe you directed us to and pin it. LOL Happy T Day!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy
DeleteThe waffle looks really yummy. My hubby loves waffles so I might just make that one soon.
ReplyDeleteThe mug is beautiful. I had to go to your post about Albacore to se what that was about. How interesting. Our next door neighbor when I was a child, was a submariner in the Dutch navy. That would have been in the sixties. He used to tell us about the cramped living quarters, and how you had to get along with your mates or it would be hell.
Happy T-Day,
Lisca
Yes, you would have to be pretty easy going to get along with everyone in such a small space.
Deletethe waffle looks really good, I have never had a zucchini waffle before. Happy T Day! Elle/EOTC xx
