T Stands for Anniversary Sundae

Since we had already planned on celebrating anniversaries with The Brother and his Wife at our favorite UXLocale Restaurant, Himself asked what I wanted to do for our anniversary. I'm not a big fan of ice cream. If I had to pick another dessert, I'd choose cake, pie, or cookies first, but during the Summer, I do enjoy ice cream, and I wanted a sundae to celebrate.

Most of the places around us are ice cream stands, and the Little Princess wanted to sit down and eat her sundae.  Inside with AC and no bugs. We ended up at one of the few Friendly's Restaurant and Ice Cream still open. Friendly's used to be known for their ice cream, hamburgers, and sandwiches. When a lot of the chain restaurants started opening up, Friendly's tried to compete and expanded their menu.  The restaurants didn't do too well, and many of them closed. Friendly's should have stayed with their original offerings

We had lunch. I had a vanilla Coke (Coke with a splash of vanilla syrup) and a Bacon Cheeseburger and since it was our anniversary, I splurged with waffle fries. I didn't bother taking a picture of lunch.

I had a Forbidden Fudge Brownie Sundae

Drop by hosts, Bleubeard and Elizabeth's blog to find out what the rest of the T Stands For gang is up to. If you want to play, include in your Tuesday post a beverage or container for a beverage. Don't forget to link your blog to Bleubeard and Elizabeth's page.

  1. I miss Friendly's. All of ours around me have since closed. But one thing about ice cream in New England, is that there are lots of stands. And you are so right about sitting down to enjoy a sundae. Yours looks very very yummy. Happy T day CJ. hugs-Erika

    1. It's too bad most of the Friendly's are closed. The one we went to could use a face lift.

  4. We'd get along fine with dessert choices, I see, but a sundae does sound good on a hot day :) Happy T Tuesday!

  5. Friendly’s was never present in any of the places where I grew up, but in the last decade or so, relatives in Florida LOVED it, even as it declined precipitously. So we had to suffer its death throes. Your sundae looks super, maybe your Friendly’s has survived better.

    1. This is about the only one open. The one we really liked to go to closed. A Starbuck's is going in now. 😿

  6. Yes, when ever an eating establishment strays away from what works for them it usually doesn't fare well. I do like the look of that sundae. Have a nice day today.

  7. I somehow doubt Friendly's has made it past the Mississippi, since the only time I hear about it is from you. That is a fabulous looking sundae. Now I want a brownie because I have fudge topping (must be heated) and I have chocolate ice cream. This is making my mouth water. I am sad you didn't share your meal, but glad you shared your coke and sundae with us for T this Tuesday, dear CJ!

  14. Happy Anniversary! We used to have a lot of great ice cream places around, but over the years they had unfortunately closed.

And OOOHHHH does that Forbidden Fudge Brownie Sundae look DELICICIOUS!

BTW, it seems that Blogger finally got the problem straightened out - the only blog that still does not update on my blog is Low Carb Diabetic for some reason. Mine was not updating on your blogroll either I noticed before.
