T Stands for More Happy Mail

I have informed mail delivery from the USPS. Each morning, an email arrives with a preview of the day's snail mail. So when I saw the envelope from Elizabeth, I thought she was just sending me a thank you note for the art supply box from the raffle I held. Only it wasn't just  a thank you note.

It was WOW! Elizabeth made me a beautiful quiltlet. With an image that looks like Ink as a kitten and it matches my Ink kitten tea mug. She also included a sheet of hand-made paper.

I can barely sew on buttons even though Ma was a seamstress. I love that the kitty is facing the camera. Ink hated to have his picture taken and would wait until the shutter was pressed and he'd turn his head. 😺

Thank you so much, Elizabeth, it's absolutely purrfect, and

now hangs in pride of place where I can see it every day from my desk. A reminder of a dear friend. I'm so glad I found your blog. Tuesday is my favorite day, all because of you.

Drop by hosts, Bleubeard and Elizabeth's blog to find out what the rest of the T Stands For gang is up to. If you want to play, include in your Tuesday post a beverage or container for a beverage. Don't forget to link your blog to Bleubeard and Elizabeth's page.

    1. We lost electricity yesterday, but no storms rolled through. Odd. The electricity was only out for a couple of hours. Hopefully today some more rain and no downed trees or power lines.

  4. What a lovely surprise to receive in the mail. Elizabeth is very thoughtful. I love that the cat looks like Ink as a kitten. I also like where you hung it up. That (Halloween) skeleton looks great! Happy T-Day! (I'm hoping we both get some rain today, but doubt it will happen here. Yesterday was a 30% chance, and nothing. But at least the hot humid weather should break. 61 F tonight. Yay! My kind of sleeping weather.)

    1. The quiltlet just makes me smile. Halloween is my favorite holiday so Bones and a bunch of other Halloween decorations stay up year round. I hope you get some rain today and looks like you’re weather for the rest of the week.

  5. I made so many mistakes on that quiltlet, I didn't even photograph it before I sent it. I'm so glad you like it and am so happy I found a way to use those wonderful matching fabrics you sent me. It actually hangs better than I imagined it would.

I can't believe of all the black cat images I could have picked, it closely matches the one on your Ink mug. Thanks again for the wonderful gifts you sent me. And thanks for sharing your Ink mug and the quiltlet with us for T this Tuesday. BTW, thanks for paying for the postage to get this quiltlet to you, too (GRIN).

    1. As to “mistakes” in sewing or art, a couple of schools of thought. In their beautiful quilt work, Amish women intentionally make a mistake as humans or not perfect only God is. The Japanese concept of Wabi Sabi: Nothing is perfect. Nothing is complete. Nothing is permanent.
