How Does Your Garden Grow?

Bunny and chickadee having a snack

The three sunflowers bloomed

Coconut not bothered by me going out to the yard

Bunnies and a beautiful sunset

The morning glories got blown over. Again.

The edger

Four gardeners weeding

Someone snacked on the sunflower!

At least these two sunflowers are relatively intact

Sad morning glories didn't make it. Either too much heat and humidity, the drought (though they were watered daily), or too many flowers in on pot.

The goldenrod had no problems with the weather

The Heath Asters are doing well

And a fine crop of milkweed though there were no Monarch butterflies to be seen.

How does your garden grow?

  1. My garden areas don't look nearly as good as yours. I'm surprised about the sunflower, because usually it's the seeds the birds want. It appears a bunny must have enjoyed the flowers, too.

Your garden areas are still mostly doing well. Mine have nearly shriveled and died. I can't keep anything going and got NO tomatoes this year, even from the very expensive Roma plant.

    1. I was told the goldfinches like the sunflower petals, but this looks like a larger critter like a bunny got to it. A shame about your tomatoes. My cousin said the deer at all his.

  3. I've had three monarch caterpillars on my milkweed that I've found. They have certainly eaten the leaves down to the stalk on one plant! I have not seen a chrysalis yet so am keeping my fingers crossed.

    1. I love the sunflowers, too, and glad they lasted a week before the critters decided to snack on them

  5. Isn't it funny how the weeds need no help to grow? LOL PS Have you noticed that the 'new' Facebook {which I have been forced into using without my permission} no longer allows us to link our blog from a Facebook post? I HATE it! :(

    1. Looking at the flourishing weeds you would never think my area is in a severe drought. Oh, so that’s what that is. A few friends flagged me about a message they received. I haven’t gotten new FB yet so things work fine from my end.

  7. We had that wind too. You lawn is looking so nice and green. Mine is brown and all that is left are the weeds. What a mess. Hope you have a great start to your week.

    1. Most would consider the goldenrod weeds, but the bees really like them

    2. Wildflowers, that's what they are. My sunflower is a perennial wild fall-blooming sunflower, so I favor the native wildflowers :)
