T Stands I'll Think of Summer Days Again and Dream of You

After my dentist appointment last week, we stopped for take-out at Harry's. Whole Belly Fried Clam plate, sweet potato fries, cole slaw, a cup of clam chowder, and a Raspberry Lime Rickey. The last for the season. 😿

  4. I had my last visit to Pops the weekend before Labor Day. I had a mix of fried clams and scallops. It was delicious. Yours is making me want it again. Nothing is yummy than whole belly clams. Although I must say I’ve never had a lime Rickey. Is it like a frappe or a drink? Hope it’s a great T day. Hugs Erika

    1. A Lime Rickey is a drink. Club soda, lime juice, raspberry syrup, ice and garnished with lime. I suppose you could make it a real grown-up drink if you add a bit of gin or vodka to the mix

  5. What a great-looking lunch! I haven't had any deep-fried food since we were locked down, so it looks even better. I had to google raspberry-lime ricky and it also looks great.

  7. The food looks delicious. Chad and Jeremy! Now _there_ are some sweet memories. I remember listening to them on the little transistor radio I had when I was in elementary school.

  10. Never heard of a raspberry lime rickie. Wow, Chad and Jeremy blast to the past...so long ago. I will miss summer but not as much as I did so long ago. I loved the sun and could lie out for hours and hours without suncreen, uggghh...and it did a number on my irish skin. Now I hide out when it's really hot. The UV index on so many days is so high i wait until later in the day to go out.

    1. Yeah, we used to slather ourselves with baby oil and roast ourselves. Didn't know any better. Now, I don't stay out in the sun as much.

    2. I watched the movie "Once Upon a time in Hollywood" and this was so true - baby oil and staying out in the sun...do you remember when it was said that if you put a little iodine in the baby oil you would have a better tan. I don't think I did that but then something tells me I did once at a friends house.

    3. I don’t remember iodine but I remember wrapping cardboard in aluminum foil to concentrate the sun rays

  11. Yes, you deserve a treat after a dentist visit! Depending on the treatment though. Sometimes you're not allowed to eat and it will have to be a giant ice cream or something! (Or a liquid treat...)
I am writing this to the dulcid tones of Chad and Jeremy.
    Happy belated T-Day,
    Hugs,
    Lisca

  15. I am going to have to imagine what clams tastes like, but it does look like good plateful! Yes Autumn days are drawing nearer although this week has been week of sunshine!! Belated Happy T Day. BTW we had Vanilla ice-cream - I do like flavoured ice-cream but the vanilla is especially good at that cafe! Hugs, Chrisx

    1. Clams are a shellfish, like mussels? They can be eaten boiled right from the shells, rinsed in saltwater, and dipped in drawn butter or I like them dipped in batter and deep fried.

And sometimes a classic like your vanilla ice cream is just the best.

    2. Oops, I meant to say steamed clams, not boiled.

  17. Oh cr@p. I missed this. I'm not as caught up as I apparently thought I was. To my knowledge, I've never had crabs. I know I've never had them on my body. And I'm also sure I've never had the ones with whole bellies!

Sorry about that. Trying for a bit of humor that I hope doesn't get lost on "youh" sense of "humah." Thanks for sharing your crabs (that is not what I mean) and your raspberry-lime ricky as you listened to Chad and Jeremy for T this week, dear friend.
