Last week, the Young One sent me a video on Facebook about how Jian Zhan teaware is made. The process was fascinating to watch and the cups are incredibly beautiful. Sadly, I couldn't find the video from Facebook on YouTube. All I found was the above clip which will give you an idea of the process.
NB: If the above video doesn't work, you can watch it on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PTuSXB-NUwo&feature=emb_err_woyt
If you are on Facebook, you can view the full video on the 9GAG Foodgasm page. The video is longer and gives an explanation of how the various colors are achieved. There are also a lot more examples of teacups especially in gorgeous blues.
Drop by hosts, Bleubeard and Elizabeth’s blog to find out what the rest of the T gang is up to. If you want to play, include a beverage or beverage container in your post. Don’t forget to link your blog from Bleubeard and Elizabeth’s page.

It looks fascinating, I will watch it on FB, thanks. Happy T Day, Valerie
I need to check it out on FB as the video didn't work for me. It sounds great. Hope you didn't get too much snow. Happy T day. Hugs-Erika
Beautiful-I have a couple of these cups to go with the little tea pots. after the video you shared it has a longer one after it thanks for sharing
Love blue teacups.
Take special care.
Fascinating! Thanks for sharing! :D

Making pottery cups is an amazing skill. I have sworn off of FB no matter what is there, because they are so offensive with their permissiveness towards violent extremists: they were among the enablers of the Capitol Riot.

Cool! I watched on FB, and I've never seen anything like that little teapot set-up at the end of the video. Great find! Happy T Tuesday
Fabulous! We have a show called the Great Pottery Throwdown which follows the same format as The Great British Bake Off (if you've seen it). It's a competition and they showcase potters making different types of pottery each week - I love it 😁. I think Raku is my favourite technique. Thanks for sharing and wishing you a Happy February and T Day! Hugs, Jo x
Oh, I can't wait to have a go look at this video. Thank you for sharing.
Happy Tea Day,
Kate
unfortunately I wasn't able to view the video. I can just imagine the skills used in making such delicate pieces. Happy T day!
The FB video is longer and just mesmerizing
The teacups are just amazing.
My favorite color
You're welcome
The skill of these pottery artists is incredible.
😊
A very unusual samovar
I've seen the Great British Bake Off. I love Mary Berry and Paul Hollywood (especially his blue eyes). I don't think I've heard of the Great Pottery Throwdown. That would be fun to watch, too.
I hope you enjoyed it.
Hmmm,I just noticed you can't watch the video from here, but there is a link that takes you to YouTube and you can watch the video there.
The video did not work for me either so I will find it on FB and watch it. Thanks!! :)
The FB video is much better
they are
That was beautiful ~ so fun to watch it bubble and change. My favorite is the metallic with leaves. We started watching the series"Blown Away" about glass blowing and it's just as fun to watch as pottery ~ Enjoy your week!
How beautiful! I watched the YouTube video, and when that one finished it played another two automatically. Very interesting. I have also watched the Facebook 'Foodgasm' which is really interesting. If I have understood well, the colour (and aspect) of the glaze depends on the chemical composition of the clay. (Titanium gave orange colour). Absolutely stunning.
Thanks for sharing,
Happy T-Day,
Hugs,
Lisca
Amazing the beauty they artists create with a simple leaf
Yes, that seems to be how the coloration works.
That is amazing! I watched it on the YouTube link! So beautiful! CJ, I hope your hubby's finger is ok! I read your comment on Sandra's blog! Big Hugs!
That sounds interesting. I'll put it on my mental list to watch later.
I always enjoy watching a skill full artist at work. Thanks for the link
I will need to watch it on the You Tube link!
Thank you.
All the best Jan
I also couldn't get the video to work and I can never seem to get YouTube videos to play longer than 10 seconds. I think it's my ISP, maybe. Thanks for sharing this, though for T this week, CJ. Sorry to be so late visiting, and I'm not on FB.
Yup, he's fine. Just lost a little bit of skin
It's mesmerizing
they are amazing
you're welcome
Maybe you can do a search for Jian Zhan teaware and find a video that works for you
Happy to hear!
Me and my sister love to watch the pottery show and compare notes, such fun! x
