1. Went to the Knights of Columbus Drive-by Fish Fry for dinner. A hat trick! No cooking for the third night in a row
2. The Roku device was no longer working for the television in the living room even after changing the batteries. Good thing there's an app for that.
3. Calli and Quill got some happy mail.
4. Himself went to the grocery store early to pick up salad items. He also brought home some muffins.
5. Had a nice chat with our mailman. He inherited the route from his father about the time we moved into the house 36 years ago.
How was your week?
Love esp #5!
ReplyDeleteHere... waiting for instructions, work-wise. It gets creepy.
Usually, I just see the mailman as he goes by in his truck, so it was nice to talk to him
DeleteA Lenten fish fry sounds nice. Our mail carriers don't last that long.
ReplyDeleteGoing to the Drive-by Fish Fry tonight, too. I never realized mail routes were passed from father to son. The joys of living in a small, rural community. 😸
DeleteNice week all around....I actually LEFT THE HOUSE to meet a friend for lunch! A good time was had by all! :D
ReplyDeleteThat must have been great! Like getting back to normal
DeleteNice. Three nights without cooking sounds like you've won the lottery. And I didn't know mailmen could inherit routes. We did have a teacher at school who inherited the classroom from his dad. I wonder who your mailman will leave the route to next? (And I know he didn't really inherit it as in a legal will-smile)
ReplyDeleteI wondered the same question. Who will inherit the route from him? 😸
DeleteDRIVE BYE FISH FRY !!!!! NOW YUR TALKIN GRATE EATZ !!!! :) ♥♥
ReplyDeleteYes, indeedy. And fish chowdah, too!
Delete5 good things indeed.
ReplyDeleteA second generation postman. How fun.
Have a great weekend.
I know! The joys of small town living
Deletedrive by fish ...i think our local senior center does some drive by food at times..never tried it. i like it when mike goes to the store for salad stuff which he does often and brings home muffins.. heck yeah.
ReplyDeleteI'm always happy when Himself goes grocery shopping and brings home a goodie
DeleteGlad the week was good. Fried fish is always so yummy! Valerie
ReplyDeleteAnd the portions are generous so there's enough for lunch the following day
DeleteWow, what a great week for you. Nice that you had fish, too.
ReplyDeleteHad to laugh at your comment about your mailman. The longest we had a mail person was nine months, before she hurt her back and had to go on disability. Your mail carrier is lucky and drives all the mail. My carriers walk their routes.
Technically, the mail route is an RFD (rural free delivery). There are no sidewalks and no place to park a truck so the carrier can walk the route
