The Friday Five Good Things

Five good things that happened this week.

1. While cleaning the sun room, I found Ink’s last rabies shot tag, a red heart. Sweet message.

2. While trying to think of what I was going to have for lunch, I remembered I had fish fry leftovers

3. I had lamented last Friday we didn't have any oyster crackers to go with the fish chowder we get at the drive-by fish fry. Himself had gone to the grocery store to pick up a few things and brought home oyster crackers for this week.

4. The Young One and I made a good dent in the garage/basement clean-out

5. Himself planned take out with leftovers and the drive-by fish fry so I didn't have to cook this week.

How was your week?

  2. Hurrah for making steps with the clean out. And I've never seen a cat rabies tag. My cats always had the shot as needed, but they never got tags. It must be tiny compared to the ones the dogs get. Happy end of the week. Stay dry!

    1. Nope, it's the same dog rabies tag. Ink didn't wear a collar so it wasn't an issue with it hanging like a millstone around his neck

  3. Fish fry leftovers sounds perfect. I'll have to buy some fried fish first, yummm :)

Your Friday Five Good Things always makes me stop and think of the little things that make my week good.. thank you.

The wait is finally over.. i found out today if i won a ribbon OOOOooooo..

My coffee is soooo good this morning.. Ever have mornings like that when your cuppa just hits the spot?

We got half the roof on hubby's shop up and no casualties... whew.. knock on wood!

The kids seem settled back in CA and everyone looks soo happy to be there..

Quiet has returned to the house ...

  5. Wearing the tag doesn't sound weird. I'm thinking of using the tag in some art work.

The Friday Five Good Things came about at a time when I was overwhelmed with taking care of my elderly parents, running their household, plus running my own. I started having a very negative attitude and the stress was killing me. A friend had posted about a good things jar. Each day to find something good that happened. I started doing that because even though a day can turn out to be 💩overall, there's always something good to be found. Like your perfect cup of coffee. 😊 I hope there's good news on the art front for you.

  7. Ink's tag reminds me of Sammy's! He didn't wear his collar (with tags) unless he was going for a walk. Then Husband would 'jingle' his collar a Sammy came running! Even from a dead sleep the sound would wake him up. We called it his 'jewelry'!

  9. I bought a name tag for Bleubeard with my address and phone number on it. He got rabies vaccines, but only got ONE tag. They stopped giving them. You have NO idea how many times Bleu's collar was broken and some neighbor brought the tag and collar back to the front porch. Squiggles has never been outside except in a carrier. He is chipped, though.

Glad you didn't have to cook, but it appears you have been busy doing physical labor this week. Glad you had a helper at least.

    1. Ink wasn't chipped and didn't go outside. When he was little he tried escaping a time or two, but got to the bottom of the stairs and freaked at how big the world was. After that, he was happy to stay in the sun room. Both kitties are chipped, too, and their "outside" will be the sun room.

    2. I make no secret that Bleubeard was born in a barn. He was an outdoor cat when I got him at six weeks of age, and until just recently, he enjoyed sitting on the front porch or following me around the yard. I think the reason he no longer wants to go outside is because he wants to keep his eye on Squiggles who often refuses to leave my side (unless I have company, then he hides in the office under the couch).

  10. Clearing out areas is always such a good feeling. We don't have a garage on this property but i do have a sort of basement and a storage shed, both of which need a scolding for allowing stuff to build up.. Darn them.
