T Stands for a June Wedding

On the last weekend of June, our niece (daughter of Himself's youngest brother) got married.

The wedding ceremony was held at the couple's home in their back yard. The groom made the wedding arbor.  This photo taken by my sister-in-law, from behind. You can just make out the spray of roses on the left and upper part of the arch on the right front. The roses were ivory.  The ceremony was held in the morning so all the chairs were in the shade. On either side of the center aisle were mason jars with sprays of baby's breath. Those were brought to the reception for table decorations. Simple and so pretty.

A reception following the wedding was held at the UxLocale Restaurant owned and operated by friend and former WAM colleague Elaine Pusateri Cowan. The reception was held on the patio.

Guests were treated to a mouth-watering array of charcuterie

I was too busy eating the delicious food that I forgot to take a picture. Inside the restaurant and served buffet style, Elaine had prepared an amazing array of dishes including a huge selection of gluten free choices.

There was rigatoni in marinara sauce, rigatoni and sausage in a white sauce, grilled skirt steak with peppercorn sauce or horse-radish, several different wood fired pizzas and a huge selection of salads.

Desserts for the guests included macaroons, a pretzel caramel brownie, and chocolate chip studded cannoli. I had a cup of  English breakfast tea with my dessert. Elaine even sent me home with a small box of cannoli.

  1. They had a beautiful day for the wedding from the looks of it. And a beautiful wedding also. That is an interesting arbor being round. and I was also stuck by how flat their yard is. That must be nice as nothing around my area is very flat at all. And so much yummy food too. Have a great T day CJ.

    1. The groom is a contractor and built their home. It wouldn't surprise me to learn he had leveled the property since you know this area is so hilly. They had the perfect weather for an outdoor wedding. Not a cloud in a blue sky

  7. That looks like a wonderful wedding day. The wedding arch is amazing - I can see that in a garden covered with roses. Great food as well - I would have been busy with eating as well, and enjoying the wedding. Thank you for sharing.

  9. What a lovely wedding! I love simple weddings. And to be able to have it in your own back yard is such a bonus.
The arbor is very special and the food looks delicious. Especially the desserts and the wedding cake.
I can totally understand you forgot to take many pictures. But I would have loved to see that dress better.

    1. It was so hard to get pictures and not be in the way of the official photographer. My niece is tall and very thin. The dress was very form fitting and suited her perfectly. Sleeveless and covered in rhinestones. The bottom of the dress and train reminded me of a mermaid. At the reception, the train was pinned up and gave the look of a mermaid tailfin. The bride didn't wear a veil. Her long hair was held in place with a rhinestone butterfly clip.

  11. What a perfect day for a wedding. I have a dear friend named Kendra, so it was surprising to read another with that name. I had never heard that name until I met her in grad school.

Now I am REALLY hungry, especially after visiting that web site where the catering took place.

Thanks for sharing the wedding, the arch, and your drinks with us for T this Tuesday, dear CJ.
