Podokesaurus holyokensis |
The dinosaur was first discovered in 1910 near Mount Holyoke by Mignon Talbot the first woman to name and describe a dinosaur. Ms. Talbot was professor of geology at Mount Holyoke College.
The dinosaur would have weighed approximately 90 pounds and measured 3 to 6 feet in height and was a carnivore.
You can learn more and see Governor Baker at the official signing at the Museum of Science, Boston. Reported by WCVB Channel 5, Boston.
I visited the dino footprints in Holyoke this summer. I didn't know that this particular species was the first one a woman discovered. And I like how you found an image that looks feathery, since most images (especially older ones are wrong). Have a great Saturday and enjoy what sounds like a lovely day. Hugs-Erika

DeleteIt's actually kind of cute. Too bad it's a carnivore. Wouldn't want to eat with me.
ReplyDeleteYou wouldn't want it to eat *with* you? It probably has very nice table manners. 😉
DeleteStill a bit scary!
ReplyDeleteYup, wouldn't want to meet it in the day time.
