Throwback Thursday - Repeat

From May 5, 1016:

When The Brother lived in Harriman, New York, a small town in the foothills of the Catskills, Ma, Dad, and I took a trip to visit. The Brother took us to see the United States Military Academy at West Point. We walked around the beautiful campus. Got to see a bridal party posing for pictures at the chapel.

Here's a picture I took of Dad with his four year old grandson in front of the decapitated statue of General George Patton.

After leaving West Point, I couldn't find my beloved, Bollé, aviator sun glasses. It wasn't until several years later while going through photographs, I found where I had left them.

  1. I've never visited West Point. The area though is very pretty so I bet it was a nice visit. Happy end of March. One day closer to summer and to maybe a real spring. Well at least as much spring as we're allowed here in New England.

    1. Maybe. At least he would look as good in them as Dad's hero, General MacArthur. Those glasses were very cool.

  4. John's uncle was a W.Point grad, stayed in the military, and left us all with what he did then. He was Colonel Charles Garvey.

  6. I also questioned the date, but knowing how you like to travel, the date was a perfect fit. Laughed at how you found the glasses.

  7. that is amazing to find them! Wish I could find my good pair of sunglasses that i think I left at Staters outside the doors when they had crates of pumpkins and gourds for halloween one year..When I got home i only remembered that possibly that is where I left them. I checked with the store and they weren't turned in. Anyway...an amazing story seeing those on the grass.
