Throwback Thursday

Some words of advice from Ma. "Don't borrow trouble." She meant when you were going through something try not to think about all the negative what-if scenarios.

It's fun to see a photo of your mother, and her words are so true.

Hope you don't get blown away today either.

The photo was taken at my wedding. She designed and made her dress.

My paternal grandmother was the champion of champions when it came to 'what iffing'! For YEARS after my cousin (her favorite) got the polio vaccine she used to worry that she could have gotten polio. We would say, "But Grandma, she didn't!" and her response was always, "But she COULD have!" She was always worried about what COULD (but most likely wouldn't) happen. Sad way to live life.

thecontemplativecat here. There are too many who live their lives like that. Seeing the negative makes like miserable.

Deep sigh. Sometimes people aren't happy unless they are miserable

It's too bad they couldn't learn to see the positive or at least to find one positive thing about a situation

I appreciate you sharing that expression with me awhile ago. I use it whenever I catch myself doing what your mother advised against doing. It is very helpful.
