The Wedding Gift - The Process Complete

The shell gold dots were burnished with the burnisher (protective glassine is not needed) Using a small, ball embossing tool, a dot was embossed into the gold. This will give the dots a little extra gleam.

With the lettering, inking, and gold work completed, time do break out the paints (Winsor Newton gouache)

And voilà. Done.

  1. Wow, the end result is fantastic. (I should've realized in the previous post that the flowers still needed to be painted.) This is a lovely wedding gift for them. And very clever to work the house into the letter A. (It reminds me of the bookmark you made for me and Teddy!)

  6. I have so much to be thankful for today. My husband just now got back from the post office and with a package and the most perfect "gift" in it. Little does the artist know that one of my very favorite things in the world are journals. It is a beautiful journal and you can bet it will be used with joy. Thanks so much. What a terrific surprise.
