A potential snow avalanche from the solar array
The moon and snow flurries which didn't show up
The Watchers
Rotrow, the spring to the new storm door came loose
A warm day with temps. well above freezing, and the avalanche fell
Too cold for me to run outside to see if the solar panels are covered with snow. Happily there's an app to monitor them. The black rectangles are the solar panels that covered with snow. Happily, we are producing some electricity, not enough to run the house just yet. That will happen in March or April when the sun is once again high in the sky.
How does your garden grow?
It looks soooooooooo cold! Love how the kitties are always watching. Take care and keep warm, Valerie
ReplyDeleteWe had a deep freeze this week
DeleteLove the watchers!
ReplyDeleteOur wee bit of snow is thankfully gone!
Our snow will be gone by July 😉
DeleteCan you get one of those long handled brooms to clear the snow off the panels? Just thinking out loud..... ;)
ReplyDeleteI have a long handled paint extender with a foam "brush" used on cars. I'm worried about removing the snow and damaging the panels. If nature does something, the panels are under a warranty. If I do something, warranty is void
DeleteMy roof has an unshaded south-facing aspect so would be perfect for solar panels. The patio is on the north side, though, so I'm having to go out there several times a day to unfreeze the bird bath.
ReplyDeleteI was worried the freezing and thawing of the water in my glass/ceramic bird bath would cause it to crack. It's wintering inside Himself's greenhouse
DeleteYes, my concrete one has been put away for the winter for that very reason. This is a plastic plant saucer.
DeleteYeah, this winter really blows. Just want it over and dne with asap.
ReplyDeleteThe kitties are sitting there probably thinking, "Thank God I am in HERE!" lol
You guys have been getting hammered this Winter. Calli would like to be out. Sits by the slider in the kitchen looking into the sun room. Too cold out there just yet
DeleteYes, we have and can you believe it is snowing right NOW again?
DeleteIt's interesting how you can monitor the power your solar panels make. That is very handy. Not too bad out today, but the cold weather isn't leaving yet-sadly.
ReplyDeleteWe can see if the panels and microinverters are working. We can see how many kWH we produce. And my blog counter lets me know there are 148 days until the Summer Solstice
DeleteParts of the Midwest got snow that hasn't hit them for decades.
ReplyDeleteLooks cold - ... like me i know you can't wait for spring.
ReplyDeleteI'm waiting for Summer. Spring here, can be a lot like Winter. Cold and wet, just not as much snow
DeleteI had planned to stop by yesterday, but my friend Scott stopped by. He opened the new ROKU I paid for and set it up for me. We played with it all night and he left just in time to get to work this morning in another town about an hour from Wichita, where he is now living. Not ready to cut the cable just yet, because I still need to find out what all I get free from ROKU.
ReplyDeleteYour garden has a LOT more snow than mine, but I like yours better. Gotta LOVE the watchers. So sweet and great shots of your garden this week, CJ.
Have fun looking!
DeleteThe watchers are so sweet ...
ReplyDeleteI also like your second photograph, the colours are amazing.
All the best Jan
The colors were enhanced when I did a one step photo fix
DeleteGreat moon photo. I like the watchers!
