The Friday Five Good Things

Five good things that happened this week.

1. It was nice to have the girlies with us to toast in the New Year

2. The Eldest made it to the airport, but then had to hang around because her flight was delayed because of weather. She took off an hour and a half later and arrived at her home safe and sound

3. My online Winter class is running. Not online because of Covid, but because I hate driving in the snow. It always snows on class day, and I'm too old andcall fed up with driving home down Highland St. sideways. Others must feel the same way about Winter and snow.

4. Calli came through her dental procedure ju$t fine. $he didn't need to have any teeth removed. Good new$

5. Quill and I watched my favorite movie The Day The Earth Stood Still (1951)

How was your week?

  1. Nice week CJ. Glad your daughter wasn't part of the all big flight cancellations. I image you were sad to see her leave. Hope you don't get too much snow this morning.

    1. Yes, the teeth cleaning was expensive enough without having extractions.

  4. Glad everyone is safe. The weather reports are predicting so much more snow for the northeast. Staying at home sounds like a plan when there's snow/ice on the roads.

    Good movie pick!

    1. Tabbies, you guys have great taste in movies. Forbidden Planet is another one of my favorites. I have both DTEST and FP on DVD, but both are now DVRed

  8. I love the photo of the cat on your bed watching TV. I've taken many of Beanie watching cartoons. Sounds like a good week for you and makes sense to teach from home.

    1. Quill loves watching TV. He'll come running if he hears the opening chimes when the Roku is turned on. Too funny.

  9. Delayed flights - ugh, so sick of that!
Winter can be cold, huh? We twice sat IN the plane for over an hour cause defrosting was waiting in line. Germans cannot plan ahead!
Oh, I hated to drive in snow, too.
Hmmm. Stupid. Never thought of cat-dentists!

My week rushed by. I learned that at VW they do not swear, unlike at Siemens, LOL!!! They mostly add a sorry, though. Hard work, but also fun. Cold. Can´t wait for Spring!

    1. One of the vets takes care of the kitties dental health. You will have to further my German language education 😺

  10. I had a good week. I adopted a cat named Maisey. I had to make the decision to euthanize my previous cat before Christmas.

  11. Sounds like a good week, except for the pricey event. I love that photo of Quill watching the movie with you!!! (And yes, I hate Winter / snow / cold too, despite living in this area.)

  13. It sounds like a good week and not that expensive. I wondered how a young kitten would need teeth removed when you mentioned it before. It's been almost two years since I've had either boy to the vet because of COVID. Both need shots and their teeth cleaned. It's a much cheaper alternative to extraction. Thankfully, they don't go outside and interact with other cats or most humans, so the shots (I was told by the vet) could last for two years.

Other than the cost of the cleaning, it sounds like your week was GREAT. Especially for you and your TV buddy, Quill!

    1. The vet was also wondering how a young kitten could have such an issue. He thinks it might be an autoimmune problem. The kitties both go for their follow up in 3 weeks. Hopefully, no more problems for Quill
