The Friday Five Good Things

Five good things that happened this week.

1. We noticed Calli's right eye was closed and looked a little red. If she was a human child, I would have suspected conjunctivitis. A call to the vet to see about an appointment. He asked for a photo and then he could squeeze her in.

Her third eyelid was a little inflamed. Possibly from rough housing with Quill getting a little out of hand. No damage to the cornea. We got sent home with an eye drop antibiotic.

2. Quill has enjoyed being an only kitty, but he is missing his playmate and cuddle buddy

3. The mattress company finally picked up the old mattress after a month!

4. Prognosis for Calli is hopeful. No surgical intervention will be needed, but we won't know definitely until the ultrasound is done

5. Hopefully, Calli will be able to come home this afternoon, well before the storm hits

How was your week?

  1. I hope Calli gets home before the storm too. This morning it sounds worse than it did last night. Stay warm and dry. It sounds like a doozey.

    1. Yeah, we're now in an 18 in. - 24 in. snow band. Some areas maybe getting 3 ft. At that rate we won't be dug out until June! 😺

  2. I hope you can bring Calli home too before this white crap hits us. It is already snowing here and they want A LOT more tomorrow and they are forcing us to work overtime. I have one 1 in 4 left but if it is bad I will take it. I HATE driving in this miserable stuff. Be safe!

    1. I hope we can bring her home today, too. Early morning report she was snuggling and cuddling with the staff, eating her food, and not throwing up. That indicated to the vet that there is no blockage. Calli will have an ultrasound and the results of that will tell us what next. Hopefully before the snow hits the ground. Sorry that you are being forced to work overtime bad weather or not. I hate driving in the snow, too.

  4. Kitties aren't without emotional trauma :( but I'm glad things seem to be settling down.

A storm? We're having sunshine and a high in the upper 40s today.

    1. Calli is home and resting. More about her tomorrow. Snow expected 18 - 24 in. in my area with 50 mph winds. Pax et bonum to St. Francis.

    2. Glad she's home and doesn't have to spend extra days at the hospital, particularly if the storm would make travel to pick her up difficult.

One of my cats cost me $1000 to find out that he was constipated! I think the trip to the vet scared it out of him because he only needed one dose of medicine and there's no way it worked that fast :)

    4. Finn, I needed a good laugh after spending an arm and two legs at the veterinary hospital.

Calli's update post finally went live, my Lady

  6. Sometimes it's nice to be late to the party because I got the good news that Calli is home. I heard this morning you could get up to 24 inches of snow. I just hope they are wrong, but I fear they are not. At least everyone is safe in the home again.
