T Stands for Better Living Through Chemistry

The predicted snow left a couple two or three inches of snow on the ground before turning to rain and ending in a slushy mess

The slush was on top of an icy pack that extended forever down the walkway, stairs, and end of the driveway.

Ever vigilant, Quill watched to make sure the food source didn't fall on the ice and break her neck

And what is the reward for scraping snow and slush from the walkway and stairs, and breaking down the Slush Alps at the end of the driveway?

The reward is two ibuprofen (better living through chemistry) washed down with water, five M&M candies, and a seat in the rocking chair with a heating pad fur baby.

Drop by hosts, Bleubeard and Elizabeth’s blog to find out what the rest of the T gang is up to. If you want to play, include a beverage or beverage container in your post. Don’t forget to link your blog from Bleubeard and Elizabeth’s page.

  1. I am smiling not because of the slush, bur because I can relate. I did the same yesterday too, only I took acetomorphin (did I spell that right?) as I can't take ibuprofen since the kidney transplant. Now the back sidewalk looks like like a skating rink because it seemed we had a lot of melt. Stay warm today with a big cup of your favorite T day drink CJ. Hugs-Erika

    1. We had warmer temps. and the sun came out around noon. All the melt we gained froze last night. The driveway was the skating rink this morning. Just making a cup of tea now.

  2. ah sweet post ice is just the worse-we seem to be getting it every morning lately here most days it warms up enough to melt it again.
If we lived closer I will give you M&M's I bought a couple small bags over Christmas and discovered they have wheat in them-sigh Larry will just have to eat them now smiles Happy T

  3. UGH! I hated that kind of 'snow'. It was literally a 'pain in the neck'! But now you can cozy up with the fur babies and rest!

  4. I am very lucky that my hubby does all the shoveling - he's in great shape and has the strength thank goodness. My job is just making small paths to cleaning off the bird feeders and refilling them:). Nice you had some rest and sweet company after your hard work. happy T day!

  5. That ice-slush-snow buildup is much worse than just snow, even deep snow. We are lucky so far this year, but we could have another 2 months or more of slushy weather. Good luck with better times.

    1. The problem with slush if you don't clear it right away, it freezes into cement

  10. We're preparing for another ice and snow storm starting tonight. Our daytime temps won't be above freezing for DAYS. Had to laugh that Quill thought that. Smart fella. Thanks for sharing your reward, yoour snow shoveling, and your water with us for T this Tuesday, dear CJ. I'm off to see what else I've missed.

When you wrote 'Quill was watching to make sure the food source didn't slip and break her neck'

We have had some cooler days but no snow ... yet.

    Take care.

    All the best Jan

  13. SO true! Shows we are all getting old when we have to reward our hard work with pain relievers. HAHA. At least you threw in some M & M's to make it extra sweet.
    Happy Tea Day,
    Kate

  14. Such a fun post, CJ. Fun to see the fruits of your efforts, your cute kitty, and the reward. It would have taken more than 5 M&Ms to get me out there! The calorie burn should have deserved the whole pack - lol. Happy late T-day and hugz. Stay warm!

  15. We're lucky that we don't have any snow here. Thank heaven for Ibuprofen, it's my go-to medicine. Of course you have to eat something with that, or it will hurt your stomach. So M&S sounds good.
    Happy T-Day,
    Hugs,
    Lisca
