I'm monitoring this little girl. Calli got into something she shouldn't have or else choked her food down. Whatever it was caused her to vomit. She spent Tuesday with the vet having x-rays, anti-nausea medication, and IV fluids as she had stopped eating and drinking.
The good news is the vet thinks whatever is stuck is smaller than what showed up in the first x-ray, and it is moving and will hopefully make it's way out. An ultrasound and exploratory surgery are not necessary.
Tuesday night when Calli got home, she had a few sips of water. This morning she had a little bit of her food and so far seems to be holding it down. Hopefully, a day of rest without another trip to the vet will have Calli feeling like her old self.
Whatcha doin?
Poor kittie :( I hope her day today is a calm one.
ReplyDeleteIt started out that way, but changed

DeleteGlad she didn't need surgery.
ReplyDeleteThings changed this afternoon. The vet wants her to have an ultrasound as the blockage hasn't moved. With the ultrasound there will be more information, hopefully good news about what can be done that isn't surgical
DeleteOh goodness. Glad she's on the mend.
ReplyDeleteShe's at the veterinary school hospital being evaluated. She will be kept over night
DeleteHope Callie is doing better soon. Glad she didn't need surgery.
ReplyDeleteWhoops just saw your response to a comment. Hope the ultrasound goes well. Poor Callie. Hope you aren't too worried!
ReplyDeletetrying not to be.
DeleteCJ, years ago our cat Maggie got into some cat food that was expired and I did not realize it at the time so our vet did a barium series and she had a block which is why she could not keep anything down - not even water! They operated on her and she was good after that, I pray is it that simple for your baby girl!
ReplyDeleteThank you, my Lady
DeleteOh. Poor Callie, she does look miserable.Hopefully all good again!
ReplyDeleteFor now I sit here reading and freezing, having my hot microwave-tiger in my lap.
It's supposed to be really cold today. I'll have to dig out my hot microwave polar bear
DeleteI feel SO sorry for you, dear. I can feel the anxiety in this post/message.
ReplyDeleteIt's the not knowing and the waiting that's the worst
DeleteThe loaf of bread position. I saw you replied to someone that she's going to have an ultrasound next (today, Thur). I guess I was too premature to comment that it sounded like it was not a blockage. I still hope it isn't.
ReplyDeleteThe thinking now is that there isn't a blockage. They will do the ultrasound on Friday to make sure
