Day 7, Sunrise or Sunset
Both for me. "Sunrise, Sunset" from Fiddler on the Roof was the Father-Daughter dance at our wedding. The lyrics from this verse are fitting as we will be celebrating 38 years married in August.

Day 8, My Favorite Flower
There are so many favorites, but there's a soft spot in my heart for dandelions. They were the first bouquets my girlies would bring me clutched in their chubby, toddler hands. The puffs are wishes.

Day 10, What Are You Afraid Of?
I have an irrational fear of spiders. I'm apt to break out in a high pitched song accompanied by a little dance. It hasn't helped that I've been bitten twice by spiders and had nasty reactions, but no cool super powers.
These pages are so much fun CJ. That happy sun is great and I also love the dandelions. Enjoy this summer like day!

ReplyDeleteYou can take my sunshine. It is HOT here already this morning and it's because I sit in an office that in summer could be a sauna without the extra window AC unit.
I may not have an irrational fear, but I do fear them, since I've also been bitten several times and had severe reactions.
BTW, where do I get milkweed seed? PLEASE don't say on the internet!
I got milkweed plants from my friend, Red. She was thinning out her milkweed bed and gave the plants to me. Is there a neighbor that has milkweed? Maybe an Audubon sanctuary? You might be able to ask for seeds.
DeleteI contacted the Milkweed Society and got two towns in KS that sell them. One only sold in bulk and the other was going to charge me $16.00 for an ounce and $18.00 shipping. On a whim, I contacted my local feed and seed company, and they can sell me a packet (which contains a few seeds) for $3.49 (+ tax of course). Sure beats $34.00!
DeleteWell, the high cost of the Milkweed Society will go to helping the society, but $18 for shipping is ridiculous!
DeleteNo, the second company I contacted was suggested to me by one I DID find on the Milkweed Society's web site. The first company thought this one MIGHT be able to help because they sold in lower volume than they, the first company, did. The second company really didn't want to sell the milkweed seed because they would have to sell such a "small" quantity. I think the Milkweed Society is set up to send you to those who sell seeds to large farms, schools, etc., not the casual homeowner.
