The Friday Five Good Things

Five good things that happened this week.

1. Fun phone call from Grandmaster E. I have some cat food the kitties won't eat but her cat loves. She is baking some traditional Italian Easter goodies to swap. We made plans when we could make the swap

2. The Eldest had a practical CPR test she had to take for certification. The good news is she passed. The bad news is the Boston hospital decided they didn't need her so they cancelled the contract. No visit for Easter.

3. Tuesday with Teague with a side trip to the dentist.

4.  Another quick treatment at the dentist.

5. I didn't feel like cooking. Himself brought home a rotisserie chicken and mashed potatoes for dinner.

How was your week?

  1. That's too bad about your daughter not being in Boston. Do you think she'll ever move back to the area. I have a friend who is a physical therapist who has been traveling around for a few years now, but her mom isn't sure she'll ever move back. Other than that little snafu, it sounds like a good week. Sun today but cooler, but I'll take the sun.

    1. I don't think she'll move back. She wouldn't be able to afford an apartment on her own. Warmer would be better, but I'll take the sun

  2. Sorry to read about your daughter. Where does that out her job wise?

Since cat food is so expensive, it's great that you were able to give someone the food rather than throwing it out.

Yet another day you didn't have to cook. This is getting to be a habit (grin)! Happy Good Friday, CJ.

    1. If the Grandmaster E couldn't use the cat food, I was going to donate it to one of the animal shelters in the area.

As to the Eldest, her agent is looking for another assignment for her. We'll just have to wait and see where and when she ends up.

  3. Oh darn... i'm sorry to hear about the lost visit! The best laid plans....
~ Speaking of plans .. our trip out East is still in the works.. just reserved all the hotel rooms..
~ Looks like Golf for Easter!
~ Spirits are still up after winning all those ribbons :)
~ Lunch out with our Rancher Friend... his 'ranch' may soon be a Windmill Farm... Good because he's getting too old to ranch..
~ Getting the weeds in the yard under control.. finally.. they got away from me when Spring arrived suddenly AND early.. Have another great week CJ! Hugs! deb

    1. Yeah, too bad about the visit. We'll just have to see where she ends up. So instead of hunting for Easter eggs, you'll be hunting for golf balls.😺 Have fun!

    1. The cookies are the Italian Anise cookies that always grace a table for holidays or special occasions. The recipe is from Grandmaster E and better than Ma's recipe. Shhh, don't tell Ma

    1. I'm sure the agency will find something for her this week. I just hope it's closer to us instead of halfway across the country. Sorry your dental appointment went pear. I hope you're doing better

  6. That’s a bummer about the Boston cancellation. Hopefully some place else close…or Hawaii;) Wishing you all a happy Easter

    1. Sadly for her, it won't be Hawaii. They require their techs to be MT or MLT which she doesn't have.

    1. The cookies are an old picture from Christmas using Grandmaster E's recipe. I thought she would have made these, but she made other goodies.
