The first time I've seen daisies by the garage. I'll have to learn how to collect the seeds for next year
Turns out the new neighbor is quite nasty. Either a Paper Wasp or White-Faced Wasp. Looks like a call to someone who can get rid of them. I'm allergic.
The bunny came out to dine on clover.
Morning glories tall enough to start climbing the trellis
I could only find two blossoms on the hydrangea.
The overgrown honeysuckle vine. Large enough for Tarzan to swing on.
A fine crop of weeds in the wheelbarrow
Hard to tell the weeds from the flowers
Climbing the trellis
Getting taller
The flamingo looks like she's inspecting her nest.
I planted petunias at the mailbox
All the babies have flown the nest. They grew up so fast
Peas
Future tomatoes
Excavation has been going on all week at the Leaf Lady's. Looks like a new septic system is being installed. Someone asked why a porta-potty was there. By law during construction, facilities have to be available for the workers.
Future squash
Jack's bean stalk
How does your garden grow?
Your garden is looking good, except for the wasp's nest. When I first moved in here there was a huge nest on my balcony, and had to be removed by the fire-brigade! Love the daisies! Have a fun day! Valerie
ReplyDeleteI’ll have to call a pest control guy to come take care of the wasp nest
DeleteI think daisies are perennials and self-seed new plants. Not 100% positive but mine come back every year. The gardens are looking excellent! Are you in need of rain like we are? Enjoy the rest of your weekend. hugs-Erika
ReplyDeleteThe daisies need to be relocated. So just dig them up and plant them? When? Yup, it’s dry. Been watering in the morning. No rain in sight this week. 🌧
DeleteLookin' good. I'm allergic to wasps too, be careful! (I also pose my flamingos, LOL.) :D
ReplyDelete😺
DeleteWow, your garden is looking fabulous! Those daisies look so pretty and I'm loving all the flowers - so summery 😀. The cardinals flew the nest so fast, so amazing to have them next in your garden ❤️. Happy Sunday and wishing you a wonderful new week! Hugs, Jo x
ReplyDeleteNow it will be fun to see if we can spot the young cardinals.
DeleteI read somewhere that wasps never make their nest in the same spot the next year, so you may have a perennial problem with these wasps you're allergic to.
ReplyDeleteYour gardens are all looking good. Your weeds even look good. Your squash is looking a lot better than mine.
Someone else told me about hanging a crumpled up paper lunch bag to look like a nest. The hornets don't like competition so won't build. But after this nest is taking down.
DeleteYour garden looks awesome with the exception of the wasps. Really love the petunias at your mailbox!
ReplyDeleteWe've tried container gardening for the first time with good results so far - heirloom tomatoes, cukes, snow peas, bush beans, pappers. Now all we need is a flamingo or two:) Great post!
Sounds like you have a farm
DeleteLook at those daisies! And the bunny:)
ReplyDeleteJack's bean stalk. Heh.
Be extra careful near the wasps.
Happy Father's Day to the HH.
Stay Safe. Stay healthy.
I don’t go out anywhere near the hornet nest , and I’ll be calling pest control to have them wrangle the hornets
DeleteStill not really anything here, I must have a black thumb this year...
ReplyDeleteWe can start a club. Maybe get tee shirts 😺
DeleteI've tried growing daisies here but can't make a success of it :( Those are gorgeous! That's quite the wasp nest! In my small space I can usually see where they're making a start before they get to far along. One of the advantages of a tiny spot. My hydrangea has never bloomed; I'd be grateful for your 2 ;) I've swung like Tarzan on grape vines, but I'm thinking honeysuckle wouldn't stand up to the strain. Your veggies will be a delight. I can almost taste the fresh tomato -nothing better :)
ReplyDeleteI’m looking forward to tomato and cucumber sandwiches
DeleteCJ; viewing my "reader" and saw the daisies; had to comment for dai$y's sake !!!! when the tops dry; cut them off the stem and paper bag them and keep in a cool area over winter....as far as the wasp nest is concerned; once dusk sets in { they are least active after sundown } use a garden hose on the nest. you can spray it "off the wall" and still remain far enough from them that they won't get P'ed and attack
ReplyDeleteonce the nest is off the surface and the surface is dry, take a bar of soap and scrap it along and over where the nest used to be, they can't rebuild because the nest won't "stick" .. any cheap bar of soap will do ☺☺♥♥
With the exception of your wasps nest, your garden is looking good.
ReplyDeleteWe had a wasps nest last year, the guy came and sorted it for us … thank goodness!
All the best Jan
