Technically, it's a wire. When people send me hand-made cards and envelopes, they get attached to the wire with a tiny magnet. Seeing the cards and envies makes me smile and adds color to the studio.
After the cards have been displayed for awhile or I run out of magnets for new things, the cards/envies are saved in binders. I bring them into class for students to look through to show what can be done with hand-lettering, rubber stamping, collage and to give them ideas for their own artwork.
That's a nice display idea! Have a lovely week, Valerie

DeleteKeeping them to show your students is a brilliant idea! You're so smart! :)
ReplyDeleteYou just made this a two cowboy hat day for me. 🤠ðŸ¤
DeleteGreat idea for a display.
ReplyDeleteI found the wire at Paper and Ink Arts several years ago. It’s perfect for my little space
DeleteBrilliants ideas!
ReplyDeleteI was happy when I saw the wire in the Paper and Ink Arts Catalog
DeleteSo great to see your cards for awhile CJ !! And I think it´s a very good idea to keep them in binders, I have to save mine in binders too, because now they are in a box.
ReplyDeleteI wish you a very nice new week, and send big hugss

The binders hold a lot and makes looking at the treasures easier
DeleteAw, they look great hanging like that.

DeleteGreat way to display art - you must get a lot of mail. I would look forward going to the p.o.box if i was getting surprises. for me it's just ads and a few bills. pretty boring, lol
ReplyDeleteI’ve gotten some pretty cool stuff along with the boring ads and bills
DeleteThat's a nice way to display your happy mail. And smart idea to use it for class. Hope it was a happy Monday.
ReplyDeleteIt was a perfect weather day for me
DeleteI think this is a brilliant idea. Rotating art is wonderful, too. I love what you accomplished and it's great that you are sharing them with students so they see what mixed media is all about, including calligraphy.
ReplyDeleteA lot of times I hear I can't draw, I can't art so having the examples to share shows students, yes, you can.
DeleteBet the kids love the inspiration. Our teachers worked strict to the plan, except for my English-teacher.
ReplyDeleteI teach adult classes at an art museum so the lesson plans are up to me and not teaching to a curriculum.
DeleteI like your ideas here :)
ReplyDeleteAll the best Jan
