The Wall

Technically, it's a wire. When people send me hand-made cards and envelopes, they get attached to the wire with a tiny magnet. Seeing the cards and envies makes me smile and adds color to the studio.

After the cards have been displayed for awhile or I run out of magnets for new things, the cards/envies are saved in binders. I bring them into class for students to look through to show what can be done with hand-lettering, rubber stamping, collage and to give them ideas for their own artwork.

  7. Great way to display art - you must get a lot of mail. I would look forward going to the p.o.box if i was getting surprises. for me it's just ads and a few bills. pretty boring, lol

  9. I think this is a brilliant idea. Rotating art is wonderful, too. I love what you accomplished and it's great that you are sharing them with students so they see what mixed media is all about, including calligraphy.

    1. A lot of times I hear I can't draw, I can't art so having the examples to share shows students, yes, you can.

  10. Bet the kids love the inspiration. Our teachers worked strict to the plan, except for my English-teacher.

    1. I teach adult classes at an art museum so the lesson plans are up to me and not teaching to a curriculum.
